Krasnodar Pashkovsky Airport is the largest transport hub in the Southern Federal District. It entered the top ten busiest air hubs in the Russian Federation and is of considerable importance for the country's transport system.

Krasnodar Airport confidently occupies the 7th position in the ranking of loaded air transport hubs in Russia. The annual volume of passenger traffic is more than 2 million people. The airfield complex has 38 aircraft stands and two runways made of artificial turf. The runways are parallel to each other at a distance of 2 km, so they can operate independently of each other. The surface of the first lane is asph alt concrete, its dimensions are 49 by 2200 meters. The coating of the second strip is reinforced concrete, and the dimensions are 45 by 3000 meters. History
Krasnodar Airport (Pashkovsky) was founded in the Soviet period in 1932 as an air base. Subsequently, it was reorganized into the Pashkovsky air squadron, and in 1934 passenger flights began to operate.
During the Second World War, Krasnodar aircraft transported fuel, ammunition to the front, evacuated people.
The first concrete runway was built by 1960. At the same time, the construction of the airport complex was completed. A new concrete runway was built in 1984.
In 1993, the Krasnodar detachment was transformed into OJSC Kuban Airlines. In the department of this enterprise were both the airport itself and the airline. However, 13 years later, the company split into two organizations - Kuban Airlines and Krasnodar International Airport.
Reconstruction began in 2012, which should last until 2018. During this period, it is planned to modernize the second runway, build new taxiways and improve existing taxiways.

The transport infrastructure of the airport is quite developed. There are threetype of public transport that runs between Krasnodar and the airport terminal: trolleybuses, buses, fixed-route taxis.
Trolleybus number 7 departs from the automobile and railway stations. Bus number 7 follows from the cinema "Aurora".
Route taxis with the number 15 from Krasnodar also depart from bus and railway stations. In the opposite direction, they follow from the airport terminal to the stop "Megacenter "Red Square"".
Route taxis 53 start and end at the Bus and Railway Station stop both towards and from the airport.
