Multi-million dollar Moscow is supplied with water by several canals and water pipelines, because its indigenous and visiting residents spend almost 5 million cubic meters of water per day. Akulovsky Vodokanal is considered its largest supplier. This man-made hydraulic structure, which performs, it would seem, the most trivial task - to provide the capital with water, has been accompanied by secrets and even some mysticism from the very moment of its design to the present day. Previously, people tried to bypass this place, now, on the contrary, many people strive here at any time of the year - to breathe fresh air, admire nature. Let's take a little virtual walk to him.
Specifications
Akulovsky water canal, or, as it sounds officially, "Akulovsky waterworks", flows from the Uchinsky reservoir, named after the river Ucha (a tributary of the Klyazma). It is included in the hydraulic system of the canal. Moscow and consists not only of a water channel, but also of a whole complex of facilities that purify water, check its purity andcompliance with GOSTs, ditches protecting the channel from surface runoff, drainage, level regulators and other important devices. Its length is small, only 28 km, of which 18.7 km are laid on the surface, and 9.3 - in huge reinforced concrete pipes with a diameter of almost 3 meters. The throughput of the entire hydroelectric complex is 18 cubic meters of water per second, which not every full-fledged river can boast of. For ease of maintenance, the entire length is divided into separate sections. It would seem that everything is provided here so that water is delivered to Muscovites in the best possible way.
Nature on the territory of the hydroelectric complex
Residents of the settlements through which and near which the Akulovsky water canal passes - Koroleva, Pushkino, Shchelkovo, Cherkizovo, even Mytishchi - tend to get out to it on the weekends to relax their souls and enjoy the amazing views. Here is a real paradise for runners, cyclists, mothers with strollers, elderly couples who love leisurely walks. The hydroelectric complex is made in two, and in some areas even in three channels. The distance between them is calculated by several meters, that is, very small. The banks of the ground part are "dressed" in concrete, and the shape of the channel is made in the form of a trapezoid. In some places, grass has broken through the cracks in the concrete, so now the banks present a picture closer to nature. There are also completely abandoned areas, resembling, rather, a natural stream than an important state facility Akulovsky water canal. The photo below is one of them. The trajectory of the open part of the hydroelectric complex is laid alongconiferous and deciduous areas of forest parks. Countless flowers grow around, there are various shrubs. Dozens of birds nest in the trees, ducks and other waterfowl have been spotted more than once on the water surface of the canal. Nimble squirrels and even moose can be found in the forest zone.
Vodokanal Akulovsky: where is
To the north-east of Moscow is the Uchinskoye reservoir, which exists solely to supply the capital with water. Near the village of Prussy, it smoothly passes into the Pyalovskoye reservoir. Approximately in this place, the Akulovsky hydroelectric complex begins, passes by Manyukhino, crosses the Uchinsky forest park zone, touches the edge of the Pirogovsky forest park massif, crosses the railway line. d. branch in the area of the Chelyuskinskaya station, Yaroslavl highway. All this time, the famous Akulovsky water canal passes in the pipes. Korolev (the boundaries of the forbidden territory begin near this particular city) is conditionally divided by an underground hydraulic structure into the old and new parts. Outside the city of cosmonauts, the canal comes to the surface and flows peacefully not far from the Committee Forest, through the territory of Losiny Ostrov, crosses the Shchelkovskoye Highway and ends its journey in the basin of the Eastern Hydrotreatment Station. It got its name from the village of Akulovo, flooded during the creation of the Uchinsky reservoir. She has never had anything to do with predatory fish. They named her after the male name Sharks, which was once popular in Russia. To serve the reservoir, a village was built, in memory of the village also called Akulovo. He existsand still.
Vodokanal Akulovsky: how to get there
You can drive to this object by private car from Korolev, the village of Oboldino, Shchelkovo. You can also get there by public transport, such as the train. You need to go to the Chelyuskinskaya platform. From here there are two routes. The first one is along pass the branches to the crossing and turn onto the road that runs along the canal. The second is to go to Lake Chocolate, further southeast along the paths of the Chelyuskinsky forest to the canal (here it is underground).
Another option is to go from the Shchelkovskaya metro station by minibus 516m or by buses No. 283, 396, 716, 447 and 338 to the Vostochny Settlement stop, then 70 meters to the checkpoint and the barrier, move on foot and turn onto path to the forest. She will lead to the channel.
There is also such an option: take minibuses 338 or 395, drive through Vostochny village and just ask the driver to stop at the water canal.
Two words about the history of creation
Akulovsky water canal was decided to be built because Moscow did not have enough water. In 1935, they developed a plan for flooding the capital, according to which a large water ring from the Klyazma reservoir through Mytishchi and other areas to the Moscow River, approximately at the location of the South Port, was to appear on the maps. For various reasons, this project was not fully implemented, but in a reduced version, namely from the Uchinsky reservoir to the Eastern (former Stalin) waterworks, it wasimplemented. Construction of the canal began in 1935 and commissioned in 1937. It was erected exclusively by the hands of prisoners of the Gulag. Only now the whole terrible truth about this grandiose construction site has become known.
The secret that has been hidden for more than half a century
Earlier, few people thought about those whose efforts Akulovsky Vodokanal was built. In 1990, when research was being carried out on Losiny Ostrov, the memoirs of eyewitnesses to this construction site of the century were finally published. People said that the builders were called canners. All of them, except for those who held leadership positions, were members of the Gulag, lived in barracks, worked from dark to dark in any weather, and died in the hundreds. Local residents have repeatedly stumbled upon nameless human remains sticking out of the ground. Under Stalin, all those who came to work on the construction of the canal wrote a non-disclosure agreement for any, even the most insignificant information regarding the future hydroelectric complex. Violation of this receipt was punishable as a criminal offense.
Security now
Most of the existing man-made reservoirs for local residents are wonderful places for recreation with camp sites, beaches, pioneer camps. The Uchinsk reservoir is special in this regard - ordinary mortals cannot approach it even close (more precisely, 200 meters), since the entire area around it is a protected zone. The situation is similar with the hydroelectric complex laid out of it. The security zone of the Akulovsky Vodokanal along its entire length is also officially listed assanitary, and strict regime. In an open area, it is impossible to approach the canal closer than 150 meters, and in the area of pipes closer than 50 meters. In fact, where the channel is laid underground, you can move around. The ban is valid only in the area of pumping stations. In the same place where the channel comes to the surface, the forbidden zone has been preserved. For clarity, every few kilometers there are security posts and quite serious guards, with some of whom you can negotiate and calmly go to the path that stretches along the canal. More responsible and adamant guards require a pass and without it they will not let you enter the forbidden territory.
Where can I get the coveted pass?
An interesting pattern has long been noticed in our country - as soon as a ban is announced on something, organizations (public and private) immediately magically appear, giving the right to bypass this ban. Akulovsky Vodokanal is no exception. A pass for its restricted areas can be issued (of course, not for free) to everyone, including owners of trucks, for example, old ZILs, with noise and roar, rushing through the protected areas of Losiny Ostrov on completely legal grounds. As all Muscovites and not only them know, it is a national park with its own special biobalance, and, of course, no types of vehicles contribute to its preservation, but is it really so important for those who need to quickly get out of traffic jams on Schelkovskoye! And on the road along the canal there are no traffic jams, no traffic lights, the main thing is to have permission. Get itit is possible for a year or shorter at the administration of the Akulovsky hydroelectric complex (Department of the Pass Bureau) or with the manager online. They say that in the pass office and in the main office there are a lot of ads with tear-off phone numbers, in which they offer to solve the problem with the pass without any problems.
Fishing on the channel
There are many stories about the abundance of fish that Akulovsky Vodokanal hides in its waters, but the information in them does not match. Some say that there are a lot of fish in the canal, and you can catch pikes, perches weighing more than 700 grams, roach, bream, crucians on spinning. Others believe that, on the contrary, there are few or no fish there, because pumps pump water. But in any case, fishing in the Akulovsky hydroelectric complex requires a special permit. It is rare for someone to be "lucky", and the guards of the territory are not interested in what people with fishing rods are doing at an important strategic facility. More often than not, fishing there can lead to a lot of trouble.
Reviews
It's good that near Moscow there are such natural objects as Losiny Ostrov, Akulovsky Vodokanal and others. It is very important for citizens who spend most of their lives in a concrete forest to preserve such corners where one can enjoy unity with nature at least every day. The advantages of the water utility are noted as follows:
-reliable and safe source of water;
- a beautiful man-made object that gives so much pleasure from walking near it for both adults and children;
-excellent cycling track in summer and ski track in winter along the canal;
-protection, notgiving to turn this corner of native land into a dump.
The shortcomings noted by the townspeople are more likely not related to the canal, but to what is happening around it:
-prohibition for some and permission for others to travel by car along the canal;
-confusion with passes that can be received by everyone in a row, as long as they pay.
