Lake Long (Leningrad region, Karelian Isthmus) is located in the Vyborg region. Eight kilometers from it is the city of Zelenogorsk (north-east direction). Lake characteristics
Long lake is small. The area of the water surface is about 0.7 sq. km, and the catchment area is more than 84 sq. km. The reservoir is called that for a reason. Almost the entire coast is built up, but there are areas with green spaces - mixed forests, shrubs and meadows.
Long Lake is of glacial origin, belongs to the Simaginsky lakes group. The depth of the reservoir is small, in some places it reaches 8 m. The average depth is 4 m. The bottom is flat, without sharp drops. There are many sandy beaches throughout the coastal zone. Silty zones begin no earlier than 10 m from the coast. The lake is fed by underground springs, so sometimes even in summer the water is cool in places. Near the coast, where the sandy bottom, transparency reaches 3 m, but at a depth this figure decreases to one meter.

At the beginning of the summer season, there are constant warnings in the media that swimming in many bodies of water is prohibited. Therefore, residents of the Leningrad Region are interested in: is Long Lake clean, does it meet sanitary standards, and is it possible to swim here?
Tourists who came to the pond for the first time, it will seem a little muddy. However, this is not because it is dirty, but because of peat deposits. It is comfortable to swim here in summer, as the water warms up to +25°С. The beaches have clean sand, the coast is gentle. Plenty of space for sunbathers. Depths of more than 2 m begin only after 10 m from the shore. Therefore, you can come on vacation with children.
Tourists often stop here and build entire tent camps. There is a mixed forest near the coastline. Edible berries and mushrooms grow there. Birds are circling over the pond. Moreover, you can meet here both waterfowl and predators.
Long Lake: fishing

Given the shallow depth near the coast, you should not expect a big catch. The maximum that you can count on in shallow water is small perch or roach. Basically, fishermen use spinning or float fishing rods. Worms, bread, semolina are suitable as bait.
Recreation center "Sunny Beach"
As mentioned above, Long Lake is quite a habitable place. On its coast, the recreation center "Sunny Beach" was built, which is popular among tourists. For living here are offered comfortable rooms in a two-story house. On the territory there are gazebos, tables, there is a barbecue area. For those who like to actively spend time, a game of paintball, a climbing wall, a shooting range and a rope town are organized. Free parking is available on site. You can rent ATVs and boats. The latter are offered both for water walks and for fishing. The recreation center is located near the Ring Road. In order to come here, you need to move along the A120 highway. The distance is approximately 40 km.
