On the Russian land there are many fabulously beautiful reservoirs. Lake Tavatui (Sverdlovsk region) is one of the most famous. Mamin-Sibiryak wrote about it, the famous films “Gloomy River” and “Demidovs” were filmed on its banks. Now there are several tourist bases around it, providing everyone with a vacation for every taste. Here you can spend your whole vacation or just a weekend, celebrate an anniversary or organize a wedding banquet, enjoy fishing or just relax in nature, enjoying the fantastic views of the surrounding landscapes.

Where is it

On the slope of the Ural Mountains, framed by evergreen firs and white-trunked birches, the famous handsome man of the Sverdlovsk region, Lake Tavatuy, splashes. From Yekaterinburg it is in the north-western side, the mileage is about 40-50 km (depending on which point to count from). From Chelyabinsk to the lake about 250 km, from Nizhny Tagil - 100, from Perm - 400, from Tyumen - 370, from Ufa - 550 km. On the banks of Tawatui there are quite wild places where a human foot rarely sets foot.

But most of the territory is inhabited and ennobled. In addition to touristbases and he alth resorts there are three settlements here - the same name with Lake Tavatui, modern Kalinovo and the very tiny Priozerny, as well as an orphanage and a fish factory. Within three to five kilometers from the lake there is a railway line connecting Yekaterinburg with Nizhny Tagil. It has two convenient stations for those who wish to come here - Tavatui and Kalinovo.

Lake Tavatui: how to get there by car

By car, you need to go to the lake along the P352 highway (Serovskiy Trakt), starting from Yekaterinburg. On the way, not far from the highway, there are two other lakes: B altym near the village of Sanatorny and Isetskoye, on the banks of which the city of Sredneuralsk grew up. We pass these settlements, and before reaching the sign “Tavatuy”, we turn left. Approximately 300-400 meters away there will be a forest road, which after 3-4 km will lead to the village of Tavatui. From Nizhny Tagil, you can get to the lake through Verkh-Neyvinsky and Murzinka on Kalinovo or along the P-352 highway to the right turn to Tavatuy.

By bus and train

Getting to Lake Tavatui is very easy and by public transport.

The first way is to follow the train to the station "Tavatuy". From there it is about 5 km to the lake. An asph alt road leads to the village of Priozerny, and a forest path, which you need to turn off near the power line, will lead to Cape Sukharny. Here you can pitch a tent and relax like a savage. If you get off the train at the Kalinovo station, there will be only 3 km to the lake, which can be walked or taken by bus. Trains fromYekaterinburg to Nizhny Tagil depart daily (10 flights). Travel time is just over an hour, and from Nizhny Tagil - about 2 hours.

The second way is to go from Yekaterinburg by bus number 147. You can board it at the railway station. The journey will take about one and a half hours. Departure time - at 07-15 am and at 16-00. You can also take this bus at other stops in the city, for example, at UZTM Square, but the departure time is not fixed there.

Geographic description

Tavatuy is a comparatively young lake. It was formed only 10-15 thousand years ago due to tectonic movements of the earth's crust. In terms of size, the reservoir is considered one of the largest in the region. The area of the mirror of its waters is 21.2 square meters. km, the maximum depth is 9 meters, from north to south the length is 10 km, and almost 3.5 km from west to east.

The water in the lake is cool, crystal clear, almost everywhere (except the deepest places) the bottom is perfectly visible. Unusually, one might say, fabulously picturesque Lake Tavatui. Photos show its banks, framed by spruce-birch forest. In many areas they are decorated with stone blocks of the most bizarre shape. Three dozen streams and rivers carry their waters to Tavatuy, the names of many of which are known only to local residents. The most full-flowing and widely known are Bolshaya Shamanikha (not to be confused with the Yakut Shamanikha), Kazachikha, Kamennaya, Kalinovka and Bolshaya Vitilka.

The geographical position of Lake Tavatui is such that in summer it is about 1-2 degreescooler than in the surrounding area, and in winter just as much warmer. From the end of June, the water off the coast warms up to 23-24 degrees. From late October to May, the lake is covered with ice.

Villages

200-300 years ago, only wolves and bears roamed near Lake Tavatui. At the end of the 17th century, the Old Believers fled here, fleeing the repressions of Peter I. It was they who founded the village of Tavatui. Since then, the lake has slowly improved. Now in the village of Tavatui there are shops, the Christina Hotel, a cafe and a free beach. It is practically no different from the paid ones located at the recreation centers. There is a cafe (open on weekends and holidays), toilets (paid), gazebos and barbecues (free of charge), a net for playing ball is stretched, and a boat rental office operates. The ground of the beach is clean sand, behind it is a carpet of green grass.

The most modern and largest (about 2500 local residents) is the village of Kalinovo. To the railway of the same name station from it 3 km, and to Murzinka - 8, 5. Geographically, it is located on the opposite coast from the village of Tavatuy. There are two sights here - a monument to the soldiers-liberators of World War II with cartridge cases filled with earth from each hero city, and a unique natural monument in the form of a phantasmagoric heap of stones.

A little over eight kilometers from the railway station Tavatui is a tiny (13 inhabitants) village Priozerny.

Islands and mountains

Tavatuy is a lake that boasts islands. Of course they are small, butfor birds, swimmers and lovers of the beauties of nature, they are extremely valuable. One of the largest is called Makarenok. It is located far away, a kilometer from the coastline, and is interesting for unusual boulders that look like tents. They stretch for 100 meters and rise in an easterly direction to a height of 6 meters.

Other rocky islands - Safonov, Golubev, Podosinovye. Cherny Island is interesting, located just 25 meters from the coast. It looks like a sheer black rock, up to 70 meters long.

It also has its own phenomena Tavatui. The lake is without particularly strong undercurrents and winds, but one day, no one knows how a huge piece came off the quicksand, swam across the reservoir from north to southwest and took root not far from Priozerny. Now it is the island of Alder Bush, or Splyven. It is quite large in area, but very swampy.

Lake Tavatui is also decorated with mountains. The most interesting are High at the southeastern edge of the lake, Stozhok and Bolshoy Kamen. Tourists love to take photos here.

Campsites

Recreation on Lake Tavatui (Sverdlovsk region) is organized taking into account the needs of all categories of citizens. For lovers of freedom in everything and maximum unity with nature, there are tent campsites. "Laguna" - located near the village of Tavatui, and "Green Cape" - a campsite with a huge territory, where it is unlikely that one group of tourists will interfere with another. For entry by car, a fee of 300 rubles is charged. If you do not leave the camping area (do not cross the entry line), you can live for this amountat least a month. It is allowed to leave the campsite and return free of charge only for the first day.

In addition, you can relax on the comfortable paid beach "Stozhok". There are equipped pavilions, wakeboards, water skis and other water sports equipment are available for use.

Recreation centers

Lovers of comfort can please Lake Tavatui with comfortable bases. Rest on each of them has its own characteristics.

The Tavatuy railway base is located 1.5 km from the village of the same name and is open all year round. Here, for accommodation, luxury cottages with all amenities are offered far from each other. They are with two rooms, three and four. In winter the cottages are heated. An inexpensive and convenient option for recreation is summer houses (facilities are located nearby, on the street). In addition, there is a hotel building on the base. Leisure - barbecue areas, sports grounds, beaches, an equipped place for children to play, a cafe, a sauna with a swimming pool, a banquet hall.

Another base - "Bear Stone". It is just over 3 km from the Tavatui village. It only works on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Other days - by arrangement. The advantages of this base are sparsely populated and ideal cleanliness. Here you can rent a well-maintained house and / or a gazebo and a place of rest, where there is a patch for a fire, tables and benches. Firewood is bought and costs from 200 rubles per set. In the "Bear Stone" there is a rental of sports equipment, boats, ATVs, skis, snowboards, a playground, a beach. In winter, the base is notworks.

The small but beautiful and cozy base "Sunny Beach" welcomes guests all year round. Here, vacationers are offered comfortable buildings of the categories "standard", "luxury" and "luxury PC". There is a lot of entertainment at the base - billiards, a swimming pool, a sauna, a gym, quad bikes, a wonderful beach, delicious and plentiful food.

Recently, a private club has appeared on Lake Tavatui. It is placed in floating tents right on the water surface.

Fishing

Not only connoisseurs of beauty are attracted by Lake Tavatui. Fishing here is one of the most exciting activities. Previously, the fish in the lake was visible-invisible. Now, of course, it’s not the same anymore, but it’s a sin for fishermen to complain. Carp, ide, ruff, perch, pike, chebak, burbot, whitefish, ripus are caught from the boat and from the shore. The perch pecks throughout the entire water area of the reservoir, but connoisseurs follow it to Kalinovo. There at the floodplain it is caught better. There are many pike in the southern part of Tavatui and near the Bolshaya Shamanikha River. On the northern shore, pike, roach, and perch bite perfectly. In winter, seasoned fishermen prefer the Vitimka estuary area, where ruffs and perches are perfectly caught from the ice. But even if you are not very lucky and the catch is small, the time spent on Lake Tavatui will give you a lot of unforgettable feelings.
