Several decades ago, spending the summer in Abkhazia, where the private sector, boarding houses and hotels vying to offer their services, was the ultimate dream for tens of thousands of residents of our country. A reserved corner of nature, where the slopes of ancient mountains descend to the blue sea, leaving people with only a small strip of the coastal line, it was not unreasonably considered a place of elite recreation. However, territorial disputes with neighbors and, as a result, economic difficulties, slowed down the development of the tourism business for a long time. The current leadership of Abkhazia is doing everything possible to attract tourists to the region, and it should be noted that their actions are giving a positive result.

Where is Abkhazia?

If earlier every schoolchild could easily find Abkhazia on the map, now even mature people have to look closely at the names of settlements. The northern part of the country borders on Russia, in the south - on GeorgianRepublic. The modern private sector in Abkhazia, namely in Sukhumi, is represented by spacious, bright apartments, perfectly furnished and equipped with the necessary equipment.

You can also rent a room in a private house, a green lawn will be a nice additionwith pergola and garden. The cost of such housing can also be different. A room in a summer house with amenities in the yard will cost much less than a comfortable room with air conditioning and parking space. Also important for the price is the proximity to the sea. Gagra

This city is the most popular resort in the country. The largest number of tourists rush here, attracted by the warm blue sea, lush southern vegetation and developed infrastructure. Old Gagra with its quiet calm streets and boarding houses located on them attract mature couples to rest. Families with children, young people and those who seek to reduce the cost of their holidays are oriented towards the private sector. In Abkhazia, in particular in Gagra, it is possible to rent a house even without prior arrangement within five minutes.

Tourists are delighted by the extraordinary beauty of nature, the mild climate, in which even temperatures above 30 ° C are extremely easily tolerated. Pleasantly surprised by the prices, much lower than in neighboring Sochi. But the central beach leaves a negative impression. It is extremely rarely cleaned, so the disgusting mountains of garbage negate the beauty of the landscapes. And sea water is not particularly clean.

For this reason, many guests of Gagra prefer the beaches of Pitsunda, which is only 20 minutes away.

Pitsunda

This city is perfect for a leisurely family vacation. It is notable for the almost complete absence of an active party life, only numerous boarding houses located along the coast arrange funny animation programs for their guests. The beaches are wide, mostly pebbly, and centuries-old pines descend to the sea itself. I admire their cleanliness and sparseness.

Pitsunda pine grove approaches the city from all sides, filling the air with unique substances. It is this resort that offers the highest quality recreation in Abkhazia. The private sector without intermediaries will also not be difficult to find, although the number of proposals is significantly inferior to Gagram and Sukhum. Considering that only 4 thousand people permanently live in the city, it will not be superfluous to decide on the place of base in advance.

Those who chose to rest inAbkhazia, the private sector by the sea is often considered as the only possible option for living. The size of Pitsunda is so small that almost the entire residential sector is located near the sea. The vast majority of tourists return from there, completely satisfied with their vacation. The only drawback is the lack of ATMs.

New Athos

This mountainous country is remarkable not only for its beaches. Ancient castles and monasteries will make your vacation in the Republic of Abkhazia truly memorable. Athos, whose private sector is now especially in demand, will serve as an excellent starting point for exploring Christian shrines.

It is mainly represented by rooms in cozy households, amenities in many are located in the yard. It should be noted that offers of comfortable housing are gradually appearing. Tourists appreciate the gently sloping beaches of New Athos, stimulating demand for modern living conditions. The city has several boarding houses built in Soviet times. Thanks to the reconstruction carried out in many of them, they can offer quite decent conditions and make your vacation in Abkhazia unforgettable. The private sector without intermediaries can be found directly on the spot, but its level may not quite meet the expectations of tourists.

Gudauta

Fifty kilometers from the Abkhazian capital, between high mountains and the Black Sea coast, in the canopy of vineyards and tangerine groves, the cozy resort of Gudauta lurks. Thousands of touristspass it on the way to one of the most beautiful lakes in the world - Lake Ritsa.

But not too many tourists choose it as a place to stay. And it’s completely in vain, because it is in the outback that one can understand what it is, the real Abkhazia. The private sector by the sea in Gudauta can be rented for very little money. Along with the simplest rooms without amenities, guests of Gudauta can be offered luxurious apartments with air conditioning and round-the-clock hot water.

Among the shortcomings, tourists note the service, which has long stopped in its development, poorly developed infrastructure and the almost complete lack of entertainment. But the purest sea, tart mountain air and beautiful nature more than compensate for the lack of benefits of civilization.
