There are white sands, which consist of quartz, and, as you know, it is an indispensable material in the production of chemically resistant glass and mirrors. In some places, the drywall comes to the surface - a loose deposit of calcium carbonate.
The bottom of a natural reservoir is covered with sand. Vegetation in the water is rare, mainly thickets of reeds, horsetails, reeds grow on the shallows. Scientists have discovered that Lake Cheremenets has a rare aquatic inhabitant - the spherical cladophora algae. The water is light blue and transparent, the top layer of which heats up to 25 degrees Celsius. In December, Cheremenets Lake begins to freeze, and thaws in April-May.

For those interested in history
How old is this reservoir, if the glorious army of Alexander Nevsky fought in his lifetime? Tales and legends are inherent in those times, one of which said: once a vision appeared to one peasant - the icon of St. Apostle I. Theologian. Rumors reached the Moscow Prince Ivan III, who ordered a monastery to be built near the western island. They called it Cheremenetsky. The monastic shelter owned the land and the Cheremenets Lake itself, for fishing in which the monks took a fine from the peasants.
Later, freethinkers and those who needed to be removed away from the authorities were imprisoned in the monastery. Criminals also came here, allegedly for correction. In 1929 the monastery was closed. Now there is a camp site "Cheremenets", which is popular with lovers of boat trips and exciting fishing. The air in these places is clean and fresh, the lake is surrounded by coniferous and deciduous forests, in which there are many mushrooms and berries, which makes Cheremenets Lake especially attractive.

A landmark of these places that deserves attention isan ancient park in which maples, ash-trees and oaks with thick trunks grow, which testifies to the antiquity of the green monument. Near the park stands in the distance the house where Sergei Mironovich Kirov, a statesman of the Soviet era, lived and worked.
