The Vileika reservoir (map below), which is part of the Vileika-Minsk water system, is located in Belarus. It is the largest artificially created within this state. The construction of this attraction falls on 1968, and it was filled only in 1975. The project was profitable from a financial point of view, the goal was to supply Minsk with water.

It is a known fact that a certain number of villages had to be flooded during construction. Locals claim that by putting their ear to the ice in winter, the traveler will definitely hear the bell ringing.

Vileika reservoir includes 5hydropump stations, there are 10 islands. The water level is unstable and constantly reaches different values. 1/4 of the part with technical marking is mainly used to supply enterprises and factories, the rest is considered drinking water.
