Miskhorsky Park is a unique natural area on the southern coast of the Crimean peninsula. It is a perfect example of landscape architecture, where clearings give way to dense thickets, in which old estates are hidden, reminiscent of castles from favorite fairy tales.

History of creation and structure of the park

The palm alley of Miskhor Park was planted by Prince Naryshkin himself. This is a real tropical corner, one of the most famous on the peninsula.

Park "Miskhorsky" was created thanks to the joint efforts of the masters of park projects, botanists K. Kebakh and F. Marco. They managed to harmoniously combine untouched virgin nature and architectural masterpieces of the 18th century. Villas and estates of the princes Golitsyn, Witt, Meshchersky, Dyulber became part of the park. Today they have been turned into sanatoriums, boarding houses, hotels.

The park runs along the sea coast and enchants with an alley of pyramidal cypresses and centuries-old cedars, and near the fountain"Lily" grows a unique Babylon willow.

Landscape

Miskhorsky Park is located on a flat area, but it also has stone ledges, on which cozy gazebos and viewing platforms are equipped. Thanks to the rocky islands, the park acquires a peculiar mountain flavor.

Fountains and statues

The park is generously decorated with unique sculptural groups. Their plots are ancient Crimean fairy tales and legends. Near the coast, a mermaid with a baby in her arms leans on a stone boulder. She is a symbol of the Crimean girls kidnapped by the Turks and sold into slavery.

The sculptural composition "The Girl of Arza and Ali Baba" tells how the earth itself mourns for the poor captives. This is not just a sculpture, but a kind of fountain, only it does not sparkle with jets beating upwards, but quietly cries in meager drops, as if as a sign that the life-giving moisture has dried up after the capture of the girl.

Miskhor Park (Crimea) is also proud of its modern infrastructure. It includes a spacious dance floor, a color and music fountain, and a summer cinema. In small cozy cafes you can have a bite to eat, and in numerous stalls you can buy soft drinks, ice cream and souvenirs with the symbols of the park and the whole Crimea.
