"Turquoise Katun" is not just a geographical name, but a promising investment project that appeared several years ago in the economy of the Altai Territory. Let's take a closer look at what is hidden behind this toponym.

From the history of the region

The Altai region, by a happy coincidence, today is one of the most environmentally friendly territories of the Russian Federation. Plans for the development of hydropower, the construction of power plants and reservoirs on the Katun existed throughout the entire period of Soviet history, but the matter never came to their concrete implementation. "Turquoise Katun" remained clean and clear of man-made waste. In addition to a happy coincidence, public opinion should also be thanked for this purity, which has always objected to plans for any kind of construction on the Katun. And over time came the realization of the fact that in addition to the hydropower potential, there is also a recreational one. After all, the nature of the Altai Mountains is not only not inferior in its expressiveness to the Swiss one, but also surpasses it. It only requires a reasonable and correct approach to its use.

The status of a special zone with a low level of taxation is important for attracting investment in the construction and improvement of the technical infrastructure of the tourism industry. The aim of the project is to develop ecological, he alth, sports and water tourism in the region. But not only tourist bases should be built in the Altai Territory. "Turquoise Katun" as an investment project involves an integrated approach to the development of tourism, which includes many essential components - from the construction of a modern road network to information and advertising support for the Altai tourism in the media. Turquoise Katun will have the status of a special economic zone until 2055. Preferential taxation has already given more than a tangible economic effect. It is expressed as a figure of 9 billion rubles - this is the amount that was used to attract investment in the project.
