Six kilometers from the famous Sunny Beach, on a hillside, there is a young and rapidly developing resort in Bulgaria - St. Vlas. It got its name in honor of Veles, the god of trade.
Who is the Slavic god Veles
If you believe the legends, then he was not born from the union of a man and a woman, and not even from other deities. The legend says that once the goddess of love was walking in the heavenly garden and caught a pike in the lake. Hungry, she ate the fish and threw the remains into the field. The cow Zemun was grazing there. She ate pike bones, and subsequently she gave birth to such a creature as no one had ever seen before. It looked like a man, a bull, and a bear at the same time. They named the newborn Veles, which means "hairy." After a while it turned out that he could changeappearance and obey the laws of nature.
Veles was loved by all the gods except for Perun. He considered him his enemy. There are good reasons for this. Veles led a not very righteous lifestyle and seduced Perun's wife, Dodola. She soon gave birth to a son from Veles, who was named Yarilo. Perun cursed Veles and sent him out of Prav to the ground. Here he lived for many years, taught people crafts, trade, music. The admiration of mortals did not please the gods, and they sent him to Nav. There Veles met his beloved Yaga and married her.
