Abkhazia… Pitsunda… Agree, each of us has heard about it at least once in a lifetime. Someone has even been lucky enough to visit this amazing resort, but for now, someone is only content with descriptions and rave reviews from relatives, friends and just work colleagues. One way or another, have you ever wondered where such a very popular place is located? What's so unusual about it? And why does it annually attract not even hundreds, but thousands of tourists from all over the world?

Section 1. Abkhazia. Pitsunda. Nature and climate

Only 18 km from the famous resort town of Gagra is this relatively small town. From Sukhum to Pitsunda, 90 km, however, by modern standards, such a distance, you see, cannot be called great, and the healing effect and wonderful rest are provided to everyone who comes to these fertile lands.

Purely geographically, Pitsunda is located in places distinguished by a unique combination of natural and climatic factors. The Black Sea is warm and gentle, as if it was specially created for vacationers who come here in the summer. Medic althe influence of sea water and air saturated with its vapors allows many people to restore their he alth. The beautiful pine grove of Pitsunda contributes to the saturation of the atmosphere with phytoncides and essential oils. Breathe really well here.

The climate in Pitsunda is subtropical humid. Winters are mild and there is usually no snow. Summers are warm but not hot. You can swim from May to October.

In some, especially warm years, the swimming season continues even until mid-November! Offers in fact an unforgettable vacation Abkhazia (Pitsunda). The private sector, hotels, rented apartments, camping and campgrounds - every tourist will eventually find the most acceptable option for himself.

Experienced tourists are still advised to give preference to the private sector. Why? Well, first of all, it is quite profitable financially (250-400 rubles per day, depending on the location), and secondly, you can always leave your car safe and sound in the yard. And finally, each of us, at least on vacation, dreams of having lunch in the yard, relaxing in the shade of trees, lying on the grass.

There are so many sunny days in Pitsunda that this resort enters into real competition with the resorts of Crimea and the French Riviera in this indicator.

First of all, we note that in this city you can find a lot of interesting, unforgettable and incomparable places.

Well, let's start in order.

A visit to the Patriarchal Cathedral is veryrecommended. This is a majestic cross-domed structure, which has 3 protruding apses and a cartex. The construction of this temple dates back to the 10th century. In a later period, it was renovated and decorated with frescoes.

Experienced travelers are advised to visit a private museum in Pitsunda called the "Old Mill". Here you can see the Abkhazian tools of agriculture, which were used in these places in ancient times. The exposition allows you to carefully consider all the features of the hunter's house and the tavern located here, which is called the same as the museum - "The Old Mill". Interestingly, the owner of the museum collected exhibits in different regions of the Soviet Union. There is also a collection of samovars. The museum exposition is currently the largest in terms of the number of exhibits in Abkhazia.

Section 3. Abkhazia. Pitsunda. Beautiful natural objects

Travel to Lake Ritsa goes along the gorge. High cliffs and the ruins of a fortress appear before the eyes of travelers, the construction of which dates back to the 9th century. A grove where Himalayan cedars grow, and a dense deciduous forest - the nature of these places is admired by all tourists! And when travelers climb the mountains to a height of 1 thousand meters, they have a beautiful view of the lake surrounded by mountain peaks. According to adventure seekers, the holidays in these places are wonderful.

Without a doubt, the New Athos cave is also worthy of admiration. This karst cavity is one of the largest in the world. It is believed that ageit reaches 2 million years! Six halls of the cave can be seen during the tour. Amazing natural beauty: stalagmites and stalactites, a petrified waterfall, a gallery with stone flowers. You should see it with your own eyes!
