Agree, the lessons of the war are too serious, and they should not be forgotten. In many Russian cities and villages, historical monuments are preserved, testifying to the victory over fascism in the 20th century during the Great Patriotic War.

The small village of Saperny (Leningrad region) belongs to the Kolpinsky district of St. Petersburg. It got its name due to the fact that before the revolution of 1917 the Imperial sapper battalion was stationed here. Today it is a very small settlement (about 1400 people). There are only 2 streets in the village: Dorozhnaya and Nevskaya.

What is he so famous for? The fact is that the shooting of the film "Stalingrad" by Fyodor Bondarchuk just recently ended here. preserved here fromDuring the war, the ruins of the factory, from the point of view of filmmakers, turned out to be very suitable for creating a picture of the destroyed Stalingrad on the screen.

After the end of filming, the Saperny Settlement card became quite popular in special outlets of our country. Why?

Lovers of historical reenactments, tourists interested in new sightseeing sites, explore with great attention the settlement, where the events of the terrible war are not perceived as belonging to the distant past: it seems as if, thanks to the action of a time machine, it was possible to move to the real situation of the military Stalingrad.

More than 400 specialists worked on the creation of the scenery for the film "Stalingrad". The script of the film was written on the basis of diaries of participants in the most difficult events of the Battle of Stalingrad.

In 1955 there were barracks and barbed wire in Saperny. Such an arrangement of the village was explained by the fact that after the end of the war, captured Germans worked in these places. From 1957 to 1968, the construction of peacetime facilities began. Residential buildings, an office, a club, a car depot were built. Some of those builders are still alive today. The old-timers remember how happy it was that they were building new houses, how wonderful the kindergarten was, they also remember the names of their teachers - bright childhood memories dear to the heart!

On the post-war life, the locals have only enthusiastic memories, despite the difficultwork, people lived like one family. I was pleased with the most familiar conditions for modern people: a good bath, a first-aid post.

The memory of the heroic deed of the people during the war is carefully preserved. The former plant "Lenspirtstroy" is today a memorable place where residents lay flowers. Caring for veterans is an important area of social work today. Great attention is paid to this in Saperny. Excursions, beautification of the village, holding sports events, maintaining order on a small beach near the Neva - these are just some of the activities of local activists. One of the projects that will definitely be implemented is the construction of a chapel, where you can think about the sublime and get away from everyday bustle for a while.
