The city of Samara is divided into 9 administrative districts. Each of them has its own differences, features and its own face.
Industrial area
This is a territory that was formed in 1978. The industrial region of Samara is considered the largest in terms of population. Its length is 12.3 km, and the average width is 2.4 km. Population - 267 thousand people.
There are two institutions of higher education: the Institute of Law and the Academy of Public Administration. A large number of industrial enterprises, including: the Tarasov plant, oxygen and reinforced concrete plants, confectionery and gypsum plants.
There are places of worship, such as the Cathedral of Cyril and Methodius, the Cathedral Mosque, which are also local attractions, visited by tourists with pleasure.
Kirovskiy district of Samara
Formed in 1942. The district is considered one of the largest in Samara, with a population of 228 thousand people. The borders are separated by Fizkulturnaya, Krasnodonskaya, Pskovskaya streets, 9 clearings, the embankment of the Volga and Samara rivers, Kirov Avenue, Orlov ravine, Barboshina meadow.
The reason for the pride of the residents of the district is school number 98. In 1941, all graduates immediately after receiving certificatesvoluntarily went to the front, led by the headmaster.
Of the industrial enterprises here are located: a manufacturer of launch vehicles, an aviation and metallurgical plant, a concrete products plant, a bakery, a Coca-Cola plant and some others. There are many educational institutions located: kindergartens, schools, 4 technical schools, shelters.
Sport is very developed, there are 4 stadiums in the area: Mayak, Metallurg, Zvezda, Voskhod. There are tourist attractions - the park of the 50th anniversary of October, the Alley of Labor Glory, a water park, a monument to the IL-2 Sturmovik, assembled in Samara and passed a glorious military path.
Soviet district of Samara
Exists since 1939. In terms of area, the district is not very large; 177 thousand inhabitants live in it. Several industrial enterprises are located on its territory, such as a bearing plant, an airfield equipment plant, a fat plant, a cable company and others.
There are several educational institutions: the University of Railways, aviation, engineering technical schools, economic university. Samara, Soviet districts are no exception, they have a considerable number of parks and squares, such as Victory and Friendship parks. Also here is a mosque, Mayakovsky Square.
October District
Until 1962, the Oktyabrsky district was Stalin's. The population is 123 thousand people. The borders are Michurin, Polevaya, Gagarin, Aurora, Soviet Army, Solnechnaya, Moscow highway streets.
There are many educationalinstitutions, including aerospace, technical, medical universities. There are a considerable number of enterprises in the Oktyabrsky district, among them: a car repair plant, a tobacco factory and others.
Railway area
The district was founded in 1970, the population is 95 thousand people. This territory was called railway due to the station located in its center.
Regional recreation areas include: Shchorsa Park, Gagarin Squares, Aerodromny, Tolevy and others. There are many monuments here, for example, to Shchors, the wall to the pilot Olga Sanfirova.
Like other districts of Samara, Zheleznodorozhny has educational institutions - schools, a lyceum, a technical school for light industry and a railway one.
Kuibyshevsky district
Population - 87 thousand people. It includes several settlements: Military town, Kryazh, Vodniki, Rubizhny and some others.
Many areas of Samara, like the one described, have large industrial facilities on their territory. In this case, we are talking about an oil refinery, the production of drill heads, a panel and insulation company.
Samarsky district
The district was formed in 1956. It is located in an easily recognizable place. It is a center of historical memory. Next to it is the pedestrian zone of Leningradskaya street. The people called her Arbat. The population living in this territory exceeds 30 thousand people.
Besides these, there are two more territorial regions in Samara:Leninsky and Krasnoglinsky. They contain many historical buildings, sights and simply beautiful places of the big city.
