So, we start our journey from the capital of Donbass. Travel time will be approximately 4 hours. The first settlement on the way is located after 77 kilometers (the city of Torez). After driving another 2 kilometers, the car will drive into the town of Snezhnoye. Then you will have to stand for a while at the checkpoint to get into the territory of the Russian Federation. After 28 kilometers from Snezhnoye, but already on the territory of the Russian Federation, the settlement of Kuibyshevo is located. The next village (Bolshaya Kirsanovka) is 26 kilometers away from Kuibyshevo, and another 11 kilometers away is the village of Matveev Kurgan. The next settlement on the way Donetsk-Rostov is the village of Ryasnoe, which is located at a distance of 8 kilometers from the previous one. Today "Donetsk-Rostov" is a train that actually consists of two separate routes. It is clear that this fact is connected with the well-known events in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions that took place there in 2014-2015. The completely destroyed infrastructure of power lines does not allow launching a full-fledged electric train, so a diesel train runs on the span of Yasinovataya-Uspenskaya (a border village with the Russian Federation). He leaves Yasinovataya daily at 6:30minutes in the morning. Passengers from Donetsk can board this transport at the station "Donetsk-2". At 11:30 this train will reach its final stop - Uspenskaya station. The diesel engine departure time from Uspenskaya to Rostov is absolutely coordinated with the arrival of the Yasinovataya-Uspenskaya train. When transferring from one train to another, it is mandatory to pass through passport control at two customs points - the DPR and the Russian one. In case of questions from the customs officers to the passenger, he, accordingly, cannot continue the further journey, and his fate is decided on the spot. Two hours are allocated for passing through passport control, and at 13:30 a train departs towards Rostov. Passengers will spend 3 hours and 11 minutes on the road.

How to get from Rostov to Donetsk by train?

Of course, before it was much easier to overcome the distance between these fairly close large cities of the two neighboring states than now. We can only hope for the normalization of the situation in this region and the gradual restoration of infrastructure.

For the autumn of 2016, the only option to get from Rostov to Donetsk by rail is to take a diesel train to Uspenskaya station, which departs from Rostov at 8 am and arrives at the final stop at about 11:30. Further, passengers traveling from Russia, just like when traveling from the DPR, go through passport control and board the Uspenskaya-Yasinovataya train.

Bus "Donetsk-Rostov"

Bus runs regularly between these cities. Buses of different sizes are used on the routes. This flight is very popular among those wishing to fly abroad, as some buses take passengers directly to the Rostov airport.

So, when can I leave the city of Donetsk? There are five bus departures daily on this route - 06:00, 09:00, 13:00, 16:00, 19:00. The airport can be reached by the last three flights. Arrival at the airport according to the bus schedule usually occurs about an hour after arrival at the Rostov bus station. It is impossible to say exactly how long passengers will have to spend on the flight, as the bus passes through a checkpoint, which may have a large queue. The journey usually takes 4 to 7 hours.

Return flights from Rostov depart at 03:00, 06:00, 09:00, 13:00 and 16:00. By the way, the first two flights pick up passengers from the airport. Bus departure times from the airport are 02:00 and 05:00. Traveling on such flights is very convenient.

The way Donetsk-Rostov today is very difficult. Firstly, after the outbreak of hostilities, transport links in the region of Lugansk and Donetsk deteriorated sharply. Secondly, a lot of infrastructure facilities that ensured the quality of intercity transportation were destroyed. And thirdly, the path itself is very difficult for people who see devastation around. At the same time, it is in Rostov that many Donetsk residents have found a job or can get money from the bank,so you have to go anyway.
