Venice is a city of marble palaces and ancient temples, squares and gondolas. Every year a huge number of tourists from all over the world come here. And during the famous Venice Carnival in the city, there is simply nowhere for an apple to fall. Getting to Italy is most convenient and fastest, of course, by plane. Venice has two international airports, both of which are connected by air routes to major Russian cities.
Small airport
Treviso Airport is an international airport located three kilometers from the town of Treviso and thirty kilometers from Venice. The airport is mainly used by low cost airlines. It is often informally referred to as "Venice-Treviso", although the city's main air gateway is Marco Polo Airport. Treviso is officially named after the famous sculptor Antonio Canova.
Treviso Canova is located at an altitude of 18 meters above sea level, the length of the runway is 2420 meters, the width- 45 meters. The new terminal was opened in 2007.

Where to go at the airport
The Treviso Canova departure hall is located on the ground floor of the terminal building. Upon arrival at the terminal, check the information screens to find the flight check-in desk number. Each airline has its own baggage rules, so it's best to check the size and weight in advance. Identity document must be valid for international travel.
Traveling with animals
For a comfortable trip with a pet, you must first notify the travel agency or airline when buying a ticket, then study the rules for transporting animals. Small animals are transportedin the cabin of the aircraft, and large ones - in the luggage compartment. The pet must be placed in a shipping crate of the correct size.
Control and security
To ensure safety, all airport users must follow the basic rules. The security check is as follows:
- must show boarding pass;
- put your hand luggage on the x-ray roller, pulling out a laptop or tablet from the bag;
- take an empty container and put outerwear into it, as well as mobile phone, wallet, electronic devices, belt and so on;
- go through the metal detector.
Security personnel may ask the traveler to remove any part of clothing or shoes and additionally inspect a carry-on bag or backpack.
Fluid Control
There are special rules for carrying liquids at the airport:
- water container should not exceed 100 ml;
- all containers must be contained in a transparent sealed bag with a maximum dimension of 18/23 cm.
Exceptions are made only for: medicinal liquids (with a prescription) and baby food for a newborn baby.
The path
How to get from Treviso Airport to Venice? This can be done in several ways: by bus, taxi or rental car.
Venice Mestre train station can be reached by bus. The stop is located on Noalese Street, to the right of the exit from the airport. Travel time will take 15-20 minutes.
From the same stopATVO buses run to Piazzale Roma in Venice, as well as to the tourist resorts of Lido di Esolo, Cavallino Treporti, Eraclea Mare, Duna Verde, Porto Santa Margherita, Caorle, Bibione and Lignano Sabbiadoro. The ATVO bus company has a certificate for the right to transport passengers on route 351 "Treviso-Mestre-Venice Airport".
Where to buy tickets
Tickets can be purchased online (then you can count on a lower fare) and at bus stops. At the airport, tickets are sold at the ATVO vending machine located in the baggage claim area and at the bus company's ticket office in the arrivals hall. The arrival hall is open from 7:30 to 22:30.

- Novo Tour Agency on Piazzale Roma;
- Agency 365 at Santa Lucia train station.
On the way to Venice, buses make two stops: the first is in Corso del Popolo, in the historic center of Mestre, and the second is next to the train station.
One-way ticket costs 12 euros, and round-trip - 22 euros, including luggage. For groups of more than 10 people, you can get a discount of 10 euros per passenger for a one-way trip, 18 euros for a round trip. Bus tickets are destroyed at the respective ticket machines before boarding.
You can get from Treviso airport to the center of Veniceanother way: by bus to Treviso train station and then by train to Venezia Mestre station or Venice Santa Lucia station.

Taxi and car rentals
The Treviso radio taxi service operates at the airport. You can pick up a car at the exit of the terminal or order by phone or via text message.
There are several car rental companies operating in Treviso Canova. You can rent a car in the arrival hall on the first floor of the building. To pick up the car, you should turn left after leaving the airport, go along the footpath to the parking lot. After about 50 meters on the right there will be a sign "Rent a car". To return the vehicle, exit the ring road onto the airport access road, turn right and follow the signs.
There are four car parks at the airport, three of them are long-term car parks with 564 spaces. There are 50 additional short-term parking spaces in front of the terminal building.
Reviews of tourists
Travelers note that the airport is very small and compact, all amenities are nearby and it is simply impossible to get confused there. The cafeteria has inexpensive prices, which is rare. But you need to come to the control procedure in advance, because there are almost always queues.
