In August 2017, the city administration announced changes to tram route 2. Nizhny Novgorod was already in full swing preparing for the upcoming World Cup, so roads and tram lines were being actively repaired. In this regard, the route of tram number 2 (Nizhny Novgorod) was changed. The scheme was as follows: "Cherny Pond - Ilyinskaya Street - Lyadov Square" and back, without stopping at Belinsky Street.

Route operating hours: 05:44 - 22:55 daily. Tram runs every 4-7 minutes.

Since August 2017, the fare in Nizhny Novgorod has increased: from 20 rubles it was raised to 28 rubles for one trip.
