Lviv is the largest city in Western Ukraine. It has always attracted tourists with its hospitality, comfort and many attractions. Only getting into the city by air was not easy. The old terminal could not provide a sufficient level of service and simply could not cope with just a few flights a day.
Everything has changed with the hosting of Euro 2012. By the beginning of the matches, a new stadium and an air terminal were built in the city, fully meeting modern standards of comfort and safety. Now it is available to everyone, and the Lviv airport itself can be called one of the decorations of the city.

Lviv air port terminals
Since the opening of the new Terminal A on April 12, 2012, all domestic and international flights have been transferred to it. The area of the complex is 39 thousand square meters. The terminal has 28 check-in desks, 2 self-check-in desks, 18 passport control points, 9 boarding gates, 4 of which are equipped with boarding bridges. At the moment, Lviv (airport) meets all modern requirements, the photo of the building confirms this.
Terminal 1 building is temporarily closed. The possibility of its restoration and arrangement for VIP-passengers is being considered. This is an interesting idea, because the building has an interesting architecture; inside the hall, the walls and ceiling are painted with paintings. In any case, all control, check-in, baggage claim and baggage services will have to be completely replaced.
Terminal infrastructure
The first thing that catches your eye upon entering the building is the bust of Prince Danil Romanovich Galitsky. It is in his honor that the renovated Lviv airport is named. Many locals continue to call Sknilov airport from old memory.
Arrival and departure areas are combined, you can move freely around the entire first floor. After checking in, you need to go up to the second floor, where there are passport and customs control areas, a duty-free shop and waiting rooms. In the Duty Free shop you can buyalcoholic beverages, souvenirs, eau de toilette, cosmetics, children's products.
One of the best souvenirs of the city can be a piece of chocolate. It can be purchased in the store from the famous Lviv workshop, located on the ground floor. It sells a lot of figurines made of different types of chocolate, there are real sweet cards available.
You can have a bite to eat in the cafe on the ground floor, after registration you can go to the restaurant on the second floor or a small sushi bar.
Lviv (airport): how to get there
From the city center to the new terminal there is a shuttle bus No. 48, the fare is 4 hryvnias (12 rubles). You can also get on the trolley bus number 9, plying along the route University-Airport, to the old terminal and walk the remaining distance on foot (5-7 minutes). A trolleybus ticket will cost only 2 hryvnia (6 rubles).
A taxi ride from the center will cost 50 UAH. (150 rubles). It is unprofitable to catch a car on the street: the price will increase twice. It is better to get from anywhere in the city to the busy intersection of Lubinskaya and Vygovskogo streets, and from there take the remaining two stops by bus 48. The minibus drops off passengers almost near the entrance to Lviv airport.
