Tuapse is a port city of the Krasnodar Territory, located on the eastern coast of the Black Sea between two rivers: Pauk and Tuapse. On the land side, it is located in the foothills of the southern slope of the Main Caucasian Range. This is a small town, where about 63 thousand people live. The climate is characterized as humid subtropical, the average annual temperature is + 14 degrees. There are many sights and entertainments in Tuapse, and therefore there are many tourists, since Tuapse is not only a port city, but also a climatic balneological resort of the country.

A bit of history

The first written mention of Tuapse is in the Greek treatises of the period of the VI-II centuries BC. In the Greek version, the city was called "Topsida". At that time, these territories were inhabited by the ancestors of the modern Circassians, who were one of the largest slave traders.

Only in 1829 the coast moves away from Russia. The settlement is rebuilt, fortifications are erected. However, in 1853, Russian troops retreat under the onslaught of Turkish troops, having previously destroyed all the fortifications. Later, Armenians, Georgians and other peoples who settled the territory of the Russian Empire appeared here.

Seaport

The main attraction of Tuapse and the entire Caucasian coast is the seaport. The first hydraulic structure was built in 1989. It was a protective pier, which formed a small water area. The first ship entered the port in December 1898. By 1951, the port was fully prepared for operation and included in the list of ports open to foreign ships.

To date, Tuapse port is one of the largest on the Black Sea coast.

Tuapse tower of Rosmorport

Another attraction of the city of Tuapse, which the guests of the city try to see, is the tower of Rosmorport. This is a real symbol of the city and it is located in its most central part. It is a 60-meter hexagonal tower, on top of which a huge blue ball flaunts. Upstairs there is an electronic clock displaying the local time.

Dolmen in Dzhubga

This sight of Tuapse is a realarchaeological monument, which is about 5 thousand years old. The dolmen is located on the territory of the former sanatorium in the village of Dzhugbe, at a distance of 1 kilometer from the sea coast.

The tiled dolmen is one of the most grandiose in the entire Caucasus. The shape resembles an ellipse with a small courtyard, it has three tiers. All slabs are made of sandstone, which are adjusted in size as in a jewelry workshop. Only the third tier sank a little into the ground, but in any case, it is amazing that such an ancient structure stood for 5 thousand years. It was built around the III millennium BC.

To this day, it is not clear why it was built, but it is reliably known that there is a special similarity between the Caucasian structure and Stonehenge. Not so long ago (2006), ancient drawings were discovered on the inside of the front block. A visit to this Tuapse attraction is absolutely free.

33-meter waterfall

There are many beautiful places around the city, there are waterfalls, and the largest in the area is 33 meters high. It is located on the banks of the Kazennaya River, near Tuapse. Around the most beautiful tropical lianas and rocks. You can enjoy this beauty for hours.

Rocks "Mouse holes"

The peculiarity of the rocks is that over several millennia, the sea breeze has formed small caves in them, in which crabs now live.

They usually get here by boat, but only in good weather, as the seabed is dotted with rocky reefs.

Nudist beach

Many unique places and attractions in Tuapse. A photo of the beach, which is visible from Mount Hedgehog, can be found on the Internet if desired. This is a wild beach where people free from prejudice come together. This place is very beautiful - a pebble beach, clear water and relative proximity to civilization (a cafe works on one of the edges of the beach) make the beach very popular. Coastline - 50 meters.

Not only nudists come here, but also creative people, divers and fishermen.

There is a beach between Cape Kadosh and the place where the Spider River flows into the Black Sea. You can get here by boat or by walking along the seashore (from the city beach of Dzhubga about 20 minutes, about 1 kilometer).

Aquarius

Kiselev Rock

This is one of the most interesting sights of the city of Tuapse (photo below). The uniqueness of this object is that the rock is completely sheer, and its height is 46 meters and its width is 60 meters, the total area is 1 hectare. Side slopes, not facing the sea, have a relief shape.

The rock is located 4 kilometers from the city in a north-westerly direction, near the mouth of the Agoy River and Cape Kadosh, 700 meters from the Mouse Holes (to the north). These two sights are assigned to the Kadosh forest park, which is a protected area. The total area of the forest park is 300 hectares.

Pitsunda and Crimean pines, shrubs, exotic trees and orchids grow on the slopes of the cliff, terraces and the top of the cliff.

The rock was named after the artist A. A. Kiselev,who first came to Tuapse in 1886. On Cape Kadosh, the artist had a dacha, where he painted several paintings: "Kadosh rocks", "Descent to the sea" and others.

This rock can be seen in the legendary film "Diamond Hand", in the episode of fishing on the Black Rocks.

Beaches of the city

What kind of vacation is there without sightseeing in the city of Tuapse, photos of the beaches of which are presented below. There are several places for swimming within the city. The busiest is the Central Beach, which starts outside the Marine Station. This is a pebbly beach, with a small admixture of sand, the shore is gently sloping. Mostly families with children rest here.

The second most popular beach is Primorsky. Valued for its surrounding beauty, as it can be seen from the green cape.

For those who are looking for silence, the beach "Spring" is suitable. It is located on the outskirts of the city (southeast). Transport links are well established in this direction, there is even a railway station with the same name within walking distance.
