However, at that time Nessebar was one of the most important cities in the state of Bulgaria.
Modern Nessebar is given a romantic look of a "town from the last century" by houses that were built during the Revival of Bulgaria (XVIII century). On the old streets, these houses stand out for their unusual appearance - high stone foundations and wooden bay windows protruding above them.
The entire Old Nessebar is easy to get around, because the peninsula is only 850 meters long and 300 meters wide. On any of the streets of Nessebar, cozy restaurants and coffee houses invite you to relax. Here they are treated to fresh catch fish delivered from the local port. Numerous taverns, shops, cafes and artists on narrow, cobbled streets create a romantic flair of the city. Nessebar, which keeps traces of many peoples and eras, as well as due to the unique nature of these places, has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1983.
