Attractions
Pine Polyana Park is the main pride of this municipal district. It was founded at the beginning of the 19th century on the territory of beautiful virgin forests. At that time, there was only one estate there.
The park area is planted with a variety of trees, and also has original winding paths and graceful canals. This place is somewhat reminiscent of a beautiful forest, which is divided into 2 parts by Veterans Avenue. Currently, various sports competitions are held there, and all local residents love to have picnics in nature in the park or just take a walk with their families.
Besides this, in the Sosnovaya Polyana district there are still parts of the old buildings dated around 1968 and located on Pilyutova Street, as well as the old Manikhina estate.
In this area of St. Petersburg there is another unique building with atypical architecture for Russia - the Gothic house. It was built at the beginning of the 19th century and was intended to store books, as well as all kinds of works of art. The building was destroyed by a devastating fire 5 years ago and today looks deplorable, but the city authorities promise to restore it and turn it into a recreation center for young people.
Across the road from this house is another pride of this quarter - the famous Vorontsov's dacha. It was erected even earlier - approximately in the middle of the 18th century. The chancellor himself went bankrupt, so he was forced to sell the dacha at the end of his life.
The natural asset of this district is the Ivanovka River, which flows through the entire Krasnoselsky district.
Despite the fact that this municipal district is considered the historical heritage of the city, the cityauthorities in plans to develop and improve its infrastructure.
