And Pitsunda is only 43 kilometers from the Russian border. There is also a sandy beach here, but the main attraction of this piece of paradise is a temple of the 12th century, where chamber concerts are regularly held. New Athos is the cheapest resort where you can have a good rest in Abkhazia. Landscapes here are of unearthly beauty: karst caves will amaze even people, completelyindifferent to speleology. It is very interesting to go on an excursion to the local miracle of nature - the green lake Ritsa, which is located at an altitude of 930 m above sea level. And it would be a crime against yourself to miss a visit to the New Athos monastery of St. Simeon - the main shrine of these places.

The capital of the republic, the city of Sukhumi, is also a place where you can have a good rest in Abkhazia. There are also small-pebble beaches, a beautiful botanical garden and a monkey nursery, where it is interesting to go with children. Do not be afraid to visit local restaurants and cafes of national cuisine, shop at local markets, bargain in small shops. The people here are friendly and open. They are simply in love with their land. And they call it Apsny, which means in translation from the Abkhaz "Country of the soul." And anyone who visits this region, as if leaving a piece of his own there.
