Timiryazevsky Park is one of the few preserved corners of old Moscow. Located in the Petrovsko-Razumovskoye complex nature reserve, it not only serves as a wonderful vacation spot for thousands of Muscovites and guests of the capital, but is also an object of observation and research for students of the famous Agricultural Academy located on its territory.

The Timiryazevsky Park has been leading its glorious chronicle since the 16th century, when the village of Semchino was located here, which was part of the estate of such famous families as the Shuiskys, Prozorovskys and Naryshkins. It is with the last family, whose representative - Kirill Petrovich - was brought by the grandfather of Peter the Great himself, that the history of the construction of the temple here and the beginning of planting various trees and shrubs is connected. The future emperor himself, as documents and numerous testimonies of his contemporaries show, repeatedly visited this park and planted several mighty oaks here with his own hands.

Already in the 18th century, the future Timiryazevsky Park became part of the estate of Count Razumovsky, who built a small dam on the Zhabnya River flowing here. This made it possible to arrange several magnificent ponds in this area, which are known to most Muscovites as Academic. It was under the count that this area began to acquire the features of a classic French park: several paths, terraces, a grotto and a pavilion for viewing the surrounding nature appeared here.

In the second half of the 19th century, the future Timiryazevsky Park, the map of which had already been formed in its main features, became the base for the Petrovsky Agricultural Academy. The project of the building, made in a somewhat unusual baroque style for that era, was developed by the notorious architect N. Benois. The array of the park itself was divided into 14 parts, in each of which certain trees were planted and certain experiments were carried out. For several years, the famous scientist Timiryazev, as well as the writer Korolenko, lived here.

Today it is difficult to find a better place to relax than Timiryazevsky Park. Moscow should be grateful to its employees for the fact that, despite all sorts of cataclysms (military, political, economic), they and the leadership of the Agricultural Academy manage to defend it, like a small green island in a smoky and suffocating city. Muscovites love it for its pristine nature, for the absence of asph alt paths and many signs of civilization. But here there are enclosures with rare birds, you can meet pheasants, nightingales, owls, squirrels.

Timiryazevsky Park is a great vacation spot for the whole family. It is quite easy to find a place for a picnic and barbecue here. For a small fee, you can make an exciting boat trip and feed the ducks for free. It can be very difficult to tear children away from unpretentious attractions at numerous playgrounds. At the same time, every vacationer needs to be as careful as possible to prevent a fire.
