As time went on, and the influence of the Spaniards in those places became less and less significant. As a result, already in the next century, Vancouver Island received its modern name. Interestingly, during the conflict of the parties, the Spaniard, not interested in dividing the land, was able to completely go around this part of the land by sea.

In the middle of the 19th century, the island began to belong to Britain, a colony appeared there. Its capital was the city of Victoria. But closer to the 20th century, having lost its significance, the colony became part of British Columbia.
