Metro "Sukharevskaya" is probably known to many, both to Muscovites themselves and to guests of the capital. What exactly? For residents of the city, this is, first of all, a successful transport interchange, but for admirers of D. Glukhovsky's books, it is an opportunity to feel like a hero of their favorite novel at least for a while.

Sukharevskaya metro station. General Description

Moscow station "Sukharevskaya" is located on the territory of the Central Administrative District of the capital and is part of the Kaluga-Rizhskaya branch line. The subway stop is located between the popular Prospekt Mira and the Turgenevskaya station, the Sukharevskaya metro station is quite clearly visible on the map of Moscow.

Has access to the city streets - Mira Avenue, Bolshaya and Malaya Sukharevskaya Square and Sretenka Street. The station belongs to the three-vaulted pylon structures of deep laying, which has a peculiar shape resembling wheat sheaves. Depth is 43meters, and the diameter of the central platform of the hall is 8.5 meters.

The walls of the landing hall are lined with light “gazgan” marble and decorated with artistic chased works by artists S. F. Kolyupanova and S. T. Kolyupanova. The platform is covered with granite slabs of various shades of gray. Continuous long strips of lamps installed above the pylons illuminate the hall and the platform of the station. Rolled aluminum strips were used for the ceiling of the escalator tunnel.

At the end of 1971, a section of the subway from Prospect Mira to Kitai-gorod was put into operation, which connected the Kaluga and Rizhskaya lines. Thus, the Kaluga-Rizhskaya branch was formed. Two stations were built on this 3.2-kilometer section - Turgenevskaya and Sukharevskaya, which until November 1990 was Kolkhoznaya.

The station was commissioned in early January 1972. It consists of one straight island-type platform. The station received its new name "Sukharevskaya" in connection with the renaming of Kolkhoznaya Square into Bolshaya and Malaya Sukharevskaya Squares. The square had its former name even before the revolution. Here stood the famous Sukharev Tower, which was demolished in the 1930s. The architect of the standard design of the station was R. I. Cellar.

The entrance to it can only be done through the underground passage, located on Bolshaya and Malaya Sukharevsky squares. Passengers can use the subway at the station from 5.40 am to 1 am.

Near the metro station there are famous theaters named after Vladimir Mayakovsky and the Moscow State Theater "Variety". Nearby are also other sights of the capital: the House-Museum of the famous Russian artist A. M. Vasnetsov, Museum of the History of the Moscow Department of Internal Affairs, Museum of Folk Graphics.

In the area of Art. the Sukharevskaya metro station has a fairly developed infrastructure. Many school institutions and six functioning universities, a music school and a sports club, shopping centers and cafes, youth entertainment facilities.
