Chita Airport is one of the most significant and largest air transport hubs in Eastern Siberia. It has not only federal, but also international significance. The airport has a large capacity and can serve aircraft of many types and modifications.
Short description
Chita Airport is located 20 km from the Siberian city of the same name in the Trans-Baikal Territory. It was founded in 1932 as an airfield for maintenance and refueling of aircraft. In Soviet times, the airport was actively developed. However, after the collapse of the USSR, its structure has changed. The international status was granted only in 1993. Regular international flights began in 1995. In 2013, the airport was included in the top five most actively developing transport hubs in Russia and Europe according to ACI Europe. By 2014, the terminal was completely reconstructed to serve domestic flights. The annual passenger turnover is more than 300 thousand people.

Chita Airport has one runway, the dimensions of whichare 2.8 km and 56 m in length and width, respectively. The airfield complex is equipped with seven taxiways. The apron is covered with cement and concrete, its dimensions in length and width are 207, 5 and 188 m, respectively, and the total area is 39 thousand m22. The apron is also equipped with 13 stands for airplanes and helicopters of various takeoff weights and a refueling complex. The airfield is able to receive and send almost all known types of domestic and foreign aircraft and helicopters. The airport complex is divided into 2 terminals - for domestic and international traffic, as well as one cargo terminal. A hotel operates around the clock on the territory of the airport complex. The maximum capacity of the airport is up to 200 passengers per hour.

Chita (Kadala) is the base airport for three domestic carriers, namely Angara, Aeroservice and IrAero. Flights are operated from here, both in Russia and abroad.

You can get to the terminal building from Chita by public transport - fixed-route taxis with numbers 14 and 12 and bus 40E. Bus 40E departs from the Aviaexpress stop on Lenina Street, and fixed-route taxis 12 and 14 depart from the Chita railway station. Public transport makes stops along the way. Estimated travel time is 40-50 minutes. In addition, air passengers can always use taxi services or travel by private transport.
