Legally since 1953, and practically since 1948, the Korean people are divided into two parts. South Korea (or the Republic of Korea) has a market economy. There are other attributes of a democratic society: a multi-party system, unemployment, and US military bases. None of this exists in North Korea. The decoding of the abbreviated name of the country says that this country is a people's democratic, and the government in it is republican. And, of course, all this is in North Korea, the letter "K" indicates this, and the absence of "C" indicates hope for a common bright future for the entire peninsula.
Why democratic?
The decision on military support for North Korea during the war of 1950-1953 was taken in Moscow and Beijing. Kim Il Sung had made attempts to launch an offensive before, but then Stalin was not up to Southeast Asia, and Mao Tse Tung did not have enough resources for full-scale assistance. In Russian (as well as in English), the names of China and Korea begin with the same letter. Reflections on how to designate a new proletarian state on the world map,led to the logical decision to add one letter, if only in order not to confuse the PRC and the DPRK. The decoding of the name certainly had to contain the word "folk". China has done without democracy. North Korea received an additional letter "D". It did not add freedom.
Geography
The entire territory of the Korean peninsula north of the 38th parallel is the country of the DPRK. Decoding RK (RC) refers to the southern part, separated from the second half by wide rows of barbed wire, minefields (this is a demilitarized zone) and fortified areas. The country has two more land border lines: with China and the Russian Federation. The shores are washed by two seas: the Japanese and the Yellow. Pyongyang is the capital. The area is more than 120 thousand square kilometers. There is a lot of water in the country, its surface area is 130 square kilometers, but drinking is tight, it is not enough.
The climate here is harsh, it can be very cold in winter and sultry in summer. However, there is another name for Korea - the "Land of Morning Calm", which eloquently speaks of the love of the inhabitants of the peninsula for their homeland, their ability to find and appreciate the pleasant moments of life.
Juche is the man in the center
Almost the entire population of the country (99%) is literate. But this is not enough, the Koreans of the North are constantly improving their understanding of the world around them. It is not simple. Juche is the dominant ideology in North Korea. The interpretation of this concept is rather vague and is of an abstract-philosophical nature. At its core, this is one of the offshoots of Marxism on a strictly materialistic basis, whichdoes not prevent, however, from giving many features of an oriental deity to its creator, Kim Il Sung, as well as to his co-author, and at the same time to his son, Kim Jong Il. Numerous miraculous actions of these theoreticians and philosophers are depicted on paintings, songs are composed about them, and in the center of all this riot of colors and melodies is a man in whose name everything is done in the DPRK. Deciphering his name is completely redundant.
Economy
Perhaps it is the philosophical understanding of reality that helps hardworking and stubborn Koreans, under the leadership of the Labor Party, overcome adversity and put up with difficulties, and there are many of them. The life expectancy of a citizen of the DPRK on average is less than 64 years, according to this indicator, the country ranks 149th in the world ranking. Medical care is in a deplorable state due to the scarcity of the budget.
North Korea's main trading partner is China, but the turnover is small - only 2.8 billion US dollars with a deficit of 1.3 billion.
The population of the country located in Southeast Asia is small - 23 million people (2006). Despite this, the People's Army is second only to the armed forces of India, the United States and China in terms of numbers, it has more than a million bayonets. They are armed with nuclear weapons and their means of delivery.
Soldiers serve here for a long time, from 5 to 12 years.
The general state of the economy is assessed by international experts as a phase of stagnation, problems are present in all spheres of life of the citizens of the DPRK. Decryptionthe only digital media outlet Gwangmen means "internet". The network is not connected to the World Wide Web.
