What is Fedotova Spit? This is the area of the village of Kirillovka, an alluvial shoal that goes towards Genichesk. It is so long that its end is already in the Kherson region, although the village itself administratively belongs to Zaporozhye. The length of the spit is 45 kilometers. It is the second largest in Ukraine after the Arabat Spit. Fedotova Spit is the most popular and beloved by tourists area of Kirillovka. Why? Now we will see what beachgoers say about her and find out.

Resort region Kirillovka, Fedotova Spit and surroundings

This beach area is located on the Sea of Azov. The nearest major city with a railway station is Melitopol. But unlike many other Ukrainian resorts such as Odessa, there has never been any industry or ports near Kyrylivka. The village is surrounded by steppe and healing estuaries. Kirillovka is located in the south of the Zaporozhye region. Administratively, it belongs to the city of Akimovka. The settlement consists of the central part and several microdistricts - "Tsarskoe Selo", "Kirillovka-2" and "Sanatorny". On both sides of it, two sandy spits go into the sea - Peresyp and Fedotova. We will describe the latter here.

Spit location

Where exactly is this resort area of Kirillovka? Fedotova Spit is a fairly narrow sandy strip southwest of the center of the village. Its beaches - quite wide, sandy with shell rock - overlook the Sea of Azov. And the other side of the spit, overgrown with reeds, is washed by the Utlyuk estuary. But it also has its own beaches. When the sea is stormy, some people, especially with kids, go to sunbathe on the estuary. It is always warm and very shallow here, however, the water is much s altier than in the sea. Almost the entire spit is absolutely flat, with the exception of small steep sections. Unlike the center of Kirillovka, where you always need to go down long stairs to the water, and during storms the sea mixes with clay, it takes no more than three to five minutes to go to the beach from any housing on this spit. Therefore, tourists often prefer to rest here. As travelers write, this resort area is usually divided into near, middle and far, as well as Stepok farm. Then comes a ten-kilometer zone of absolutely wild places. The roads there are no longer paved, and not even a primer, but simply rolled sand. The spit ends with a national park called Biruchiy Island.

How to get there

There are two bus stations in Kirillovka. One - unofficial - is located in the center of the village,next to the city administration building and the market. Private minibuses usually come there, which are on duty at the railway station of the city of Melitopol during the season. They wait for passengers and take them to Kirillovka as they fill up. Regular buses from the same station near the Melitopol railway station come to another place. It is located on the outskirts of the village, literally 500 meters from the center. This is the official bus station. There is a waiting room, as well as cash desks. Tourists advise, if you want to go specifically to Fedotov Spit, and not to the center of Kirillovka, either take the usual regular route, or ask the driver to stop at the station. Why? The fact is that buses to this spit depart from the station at the exit. They travel quite often, literally every quarter of an hour. The main thing is not to confuse and not take a bus that leaves in the opposite direction, to the Peresyp spit. The final station of such minibuses is Stepok farm. If you are going further to Biruchiy Island, you will either need to secure a transfer or travel by car.

Near braid

This is the oldest and "chic" part of the area. This area of Fedotova Spit is located in the immediate vicinity of the village of Kirillovka. Tourists advise it to those who, on the one hand, want to swim in the clear sea, and on the other hand, have the entire recreation infrastructure at hand. There is a water park nearby, and nightclubs, and discos, and a Ferris wheel with other attractions, and all kinds of entertainment. As for buying groceries, the Middle Spitis a complete market. There is something for sale on every corner. There are two roads along the Near Spit. One of them, the old one, is a primer sprinkled with sand. Most of the recreation centers in the area are located just behind this road. And the highway, along which buses run, is already located behind the boarding houses and runs along the estuary. The Middle Spit has the most people, but you can walk to Kirillovka.

Medium braid

This part of Fedotka, as travelers like to call it, is located on the narrowest part of the spit. There are also many exits to the estuary. The old dirt road ends exactly on the Middle Spit. There is a market here, which is no more than five minutes walk from any place. It is interesting that at the local bazaar you can buy ready-made food at inexpensive prices - soups, salads, meatballs, chops, various desserts. Everything is fresh and tasty. If you live at the base without food, but with a kitchen, you just have to heat up the food you bought. In terms of money, as tourists assure, it comes out cheaper if you buy food separately and cook it yourself. In the evenings, a tourist mini-train runs between the Middle and Middle Spit. Children love him very much. The recreation centers of Fedotova Spit in this part are located in two or three rows. There are those that stand right on the sea, and there are closer to the estuary. There are neither many nor few people on the beaches. But compared to the center of Kirillovka, it's just a desert.

Far Spit and Stepok

Oddly enough, this area is more crowded. Especially when comparedwith the middle scythe. Stepok is a fishing farm. There are not only recreation centers, but also private housing. Stepok is located in the place of the spit where it expands. Therefore, from some places to the sea you need to walk about ten minutes. Stepka has its own market and many shops. But in the direction of Biryuchy Island from this farm, a strip of completely wild beaches begins. "Savages" like to come there with tents. Where there are practically no people, the beaches are very clean and wide, and the sand is fine, even with almost no admixture of shell rock. But there is no infrastructure, as well as roads, there. And in July there are a lot of mosquitoes.

Biryuchiy Island

This is the southernmost section of the spit. It has several recreation centers and a national park. Until 1929, these places were separated from the spit by a strait. Now you can get there by car, albeit on sand. Fills the crossing only in the spring. Biryuchy Island has the largest, cleanest and most deserted beaches. And several recreation centers and private cottages, which are located here, are focused either on family or romantic holidays. People come here with money and want to spend their holidays in nature, without noise and fuss. Accommodation prices on Biryuchy Island are the highest on the entire spit. But in these places you can completely immerse yourself in unity with nature, and also see rare animals and birds. Here, on the territory of the national park, live not only local species, but also specially brought here - kulans, fallow deer, moufflons, zebras, deer. Housing on the spit

At the beginning and center of Fedotka, where the infrastructure is developed, there are many recreation centers and private hotels where it will be interesting for young people and companies, as well as families with children, to relax. There are also quite cheap housing options, rebuilt from Soviet departmental boarding houses or children's camps, as well as new hotels with animation. The most famous base on Fedotova Spit is the Water World. It is located at the very beginning of this area, not far from the center of Kirillovka. This is a hotel with modern rooms, a well-groomed closed territory and a restaurant kitchen. But most of the housing on the near spit is rather low-class with inflated prices, there is little greenery, and the Internet is slow here. In the center of Fedotka, there are good reviews about such bases as Admiral and Tropikanka. On the far spit there are several successful and popular options for tourists. But the most interesting option is the Fedotova Spit base (Kirillovka). Inexpensive prices, rooms of different comfort - from wooden houses to rooms in the building and log cabins, the ability to eat in the dining room or cook on your own, a private beach with awnings and - a huge rarity for these places - a huge green area. In Stepka, all hotels, guest houses and the private sector are focused on a quiet, family vacation. Tourists, first of all, like that all the local beaches are free and open to anyone. Everywhere you can sunbathe on your own towel or rent sunbeds and umbrellas for the whole day at almost the same price throughout the spit. Some bases provide such beach accessories to their guests for free. At the same time, unlike Kirillovka, the sea is deep, and it is pleasant for adults to swim here. And for kids there are beaches on the estuary. Many vacationers are sure that resting on Fedotova Spit helps to improve their he alth. It is useful to go here for people with problems with the respiratory system, as well as with reduced immunity. But there are, of course, problems. For example, "wi-fi" on the spit is paid and not too fast. Water here you need to drink only purchased and bottled. In addition, there are recreation centers with the same names on Fedotova Spit. This introduces some confusion, so that even minibus drivers often do not know exactly where to drop you off.
