A319 Airbus: modifications, specifications, cabin layout

Historical background

Airbus A319 was developed in the design office of the French concern Airbus Industry. The basis for the creation of a new type of aircraft was the Airbus A320. For this, the model was shortened and 120 passenger seats were placed on it (7 rows were removed). Then the new modification received the index A320M-7. Later, she was assigned the index A319.

Testing began in 1990. However, the program to develop a new type of aircraft officially began only in May 1992. After research on the aircraft sales market, designers began work in 1993. The first prototype of the A319 Airbus was built in 1995, and in August of the same year it took to the air. In March of the following year, the concern received an aircraft type certificate. The first of its kind A319 was purchased by the Swiss air carrier SwissAir.

Currently, most of the leading airlines in Europe, North America and Asia operate this type of aircraft. Since 2003A319 began to be registered in the fleet of Aeroflot, the Russian national carrier. In the same year, the Airbus Industry concern signed an agreement with the Irkutsk and Nizhny Novgorod aircraft plants for the production of A319 elements.

In total, since 1996, about 2 thousand units of A319 aircraft have been produced. The cost of one unit is about 86 million dollars.

Modifications

Airbus A319 exists in four modifications.

A319-110 is the basic modification. Has CFM56 engines. So with CFM56-5A4 engines, the model was named A319-111, CFM56-5B5 - A319-112, CFM56-5B6 - A319-114.

A319-130 is based on the base model. AeroEngines type V2500 engines installed. With V2522-A5 engines it is called A319-131, and with V2522-A5 it is called A319-132.

A319-LR provides for additional fuel tanks. Due to this, the flight range can be increased to 8000 km.

A319-ACJ (also known as the Airbus Corporate Jet) is a business jet. Has a superior lounge with shower room, gymnasium and meeting room. Designed to carry from 10 to 50 air passengers in VIP layout. The cabin can be converted for 100 passengers as the VIP modules can be dismantled. The maximum flight range can reach 12,000 km.

Aircraft design features

Airliner A319 (airbus) is a narrow-body twin-engine cantilever low-wing aircraft. Atcomposite materials are used in the manufacture of an all-metal aircraft body.

The design provides for a retractable tricycle landing gear. There is a nose stand. The tail of the standard type. Turbofan jet engines are located under the plane of the wings. The wings are arrow-shaped. The fuselage type is a semi-monocoque with a circular section of 3.95 m in diameter.

The aircraft is equipped with EFIS digital avionics, just like the A320 modification. The design of information fields in the cockpit uses color multifunctional displays (there are 6 in total).

• height - 11.81 m.

Airbus A319: best seats, cabin map

If we talk about the layout of the cabin, there are several schemes. Mostlythey are designed to carry from 120 to 156 passengers. Almost every airline has its own. Let us dwell on the consideration of the most general scheme.

The standard Airbus A319 layout assumes only one class of service.

The best and safest seats in this cabin scheme are the seats located at the very beginning of the cabin and on the emergency rows. Most airlines also have a business class passenger service, which is located at the front of the cabin, which in itself makes these seats the most comfortable on the plane.

It is worth noting that the back of the seat on the first emergency row does not recline. The distance between seats in emergency rows has been increased.

According to statistics, the most uncomfortable seats are near the toilets at the end of the cabin.

All salon chairs are quite comfortable, as they are equipped with built-in cushions. The backrest height can be easily adjusted. The plane is not as noisy as compared to other airliners.
