Moskovskaya embankment in Cheboksary, which until recently looked boring and unkempt, after three stages of reconstruction within the framework of the federal targeted program for the development of tourism, has changed and has become one of the favorite vacation spots for citizens and guests of Chuvashia. But this is not the end. In accordance with the plans of the city leadership, the improvement work will continue.
Square named after K. Ivanov
This quiet and cozy place appeared on the embankment a long time ago. The crowns of the trees have grown and give a lot of coolness, blue spruces stretch upwards. The bust of Konstantin Ivanov, the famous Chuvash poet who wrote the poem "Narspi", is installed on the platform of the stairs near the river.
In the square on the Moscow embankment of Cheboksary there is the Alley of Lovers, where newlyweds come to take wedding photos and walk along the colorful flower beds. This is the place where people who like to read outdoors gather. There is an electronic library bench in the park. It is enough to scan the QR code from the information desk at the entrance to your smartphone, and youget access to any piece of Chuvash or world classics.
The square will not be boring for those who like not to read, but to watch. The city administration plans to organize small theatrical performances that will acquaint visitors of the square with the work of Ivanov and other writers.
Unusual objects
There is an interesting architectural object on the Moscow embankment of Cheboksary, the purpose of which the townspeople still cannot guess, but it is very beautiful, and therefore appropriate - it looks like an entrance to an underground city. It's possible that this gate actually leads to the dungeon, but it hasn't been opened yet.
Views of the old city adorn the vertical walls adjacent to the facade. The organizers promise that by the summer there will be wrought iron benches, decorative art objects, music will sound.
Active rest on the Moscow embankment Cheboksary
There are a lot of opportunities to actively spend your free time. The organizers have provided for the interests of lovers of leisurely walking, extreme speeds, water, land, winter, summer sports activities for all, without exception, age groups.
On the modern embankment there are beach volleyball and badminton courts, outdoor exercise equipment and playgrounds for children. On specially designated paths, you can ride bicycles, scooters, rollerblades, skateboards. No one will interfere with Nordic walking lovers.
Every morning in Cheboksary on the Volga embankment begins with collective yoga. Experienced instructors conduct classes with both experienced and novice students.
And what kind of rest by the water without water procedures? On the promenade, stretching for five kilometers, there are several city beaches. All of them are in order, equipped with showers and changing rooms.
There are numerous rental shops where you can rent everything from badminton, roller skates and fins to a catamaran and a boat with fishing equipment. In winter, a wide range of seasonal equipment is offered: skis, winter bikes, snowmobiles. The route runs not only along the Cheboksary embankment, but also along the Volga.
Where can I eat?
The Roland restaurant, set on the water, welcomes diners to three decks. The views of the Volga from the windows of this vessel leave no one indifferent. Here you can choose dishes of European, Russian or Chuvash cuisine. There are several cafes on the shore, where they serve delicious, hot food, tea or coffee.
The plan for the restoration of the Moscow Embankment in Cheboksary, launched in 2016, is designed for four years. Completion of works in 2019 will be a gift to the citizens for the 550th anniversary of their city. A lot of things have already been done that have transformed the embankment and made it a great place to relax. The organizers even foresaw such a trifle: the descent to the Volga was equipped with bench steps, which are very popular. Updates will continue.
