Travelers should take into account the significant changes that will be made from 2018 for Domodedovo Airport in the plans-schemes of terminals, paid and free parking lots and public transport stops, and take into account the likely additional time that may be required to navigate in the renovated premises of the terminal.

New denouement

In 2018, after the end of the "construction of the century", the plan for the interchange of Domodedovo Airport will change. A two-level entrance to the building will separate the zones of departure and arrival of passengers. The width of the central zone of the A-105 highway, which serves as an entrance to the airport, will be increased. There is a separate parking area for minibuses and buses. To meet the growing passenger traffic, a double-decker Aeroexpress will be launched.

Transportation

As a result of the influx of a large number of tourists and the complication of the situation on the roads of the cities of Moscow and the Moscow region, the issue of timely arrival inthe airport. For Domodedovo Airport, the traveler's plan should include an hour and a half for formal procedures for domestic Russian flights and two to three hours for international flights, respectively. This time must be kept in mind when planning your trip.

There are several ways to get to the airport. The two most comfortable are taxi and private car. The inconvenience lies in the unpredictability of traffic jams, which increase the risk of missing a flight and increase the overall nervousness of passengers and the driver. On the plus side: there is a paid parking lot at the airport, which allows departing passengers to leave their personal car for the entire time of their absence under supervision. As a result, upon returning to the city, you do not need to worry about ordering a taxi in advance and possible overlays in case of a flight delay. One of the most popular means of transport is the Aeroexpress, a high-speed train that runs every 30 minutes between Domodedovo and Paveletsky Station. Its main advantage is its independence from traffic jams. Finally, the airport can be reached by minibus from the Domodedovskaya metro station or by regular train from the Paveletskaya metro station. Both of these methods significantly increase the travel time, and in the case of the bus, the possibility of getting stuck in a traffic jam is not excluded.
