Petrovskoye Lake in Russia is not one, there are several. They are located in the Pskov, Leningrad, Moscow regions and in the Altai Territory. They are all different. Let's take a look at each one.
Petrovskoe (Uzskoe) Lake
The lake, located in the Pskov region, officially has two names: the first is Uzskoye, the second is Petrovsky. The reservoir is flowing, the coastline is indented, there are many shallow areas overgrown with vegetation. Refers to the river basin. Bonds. There are practically no beaches. The bottom is muddy. The banks are very steep, low and sloping. Many islands and bays are typical for such a reservoir as Petrovsky Lake. Where is it located in the Pskov region? In the Dedovichi district, between two similar reservoirs: Lake. Gorodnovsky and lake. Lokno. Uzskoye occupies 2.3 km2 of the territory of the Sudoma Upland. The average depth in the reservoir does not exceed 5 m, but in some places it can reach 10 m. It feeds on precipitation and underground springs.
The lake is surrounded by forests and meadows, a little further there are fields, for irrigation of which water from this reservoir is used. There are practically no vacationers here, but there are a lot of fishermen. It is quite easy to explain this - Petrovsky Lake is rich in aquatic vertebrates. Atshores are found pike and perch, bream and bleak - at a depth. There used to be a lot of pike perch here, but due to silting, its population has declined significantly.
There are two settlements in the lake area: the village of Uza (directly on the coast) and the village of Vyshegorod (1.5 km south of the reservoir).
Petrovskoe (Kuchane) lake
In the Pskov region there is another Petrovsky lake, which is called Kuchane. It is located in the Pushkinogorsk region. The size is medium (the area is almost 175 hectares). Refers to the river basin. Soroti. The reservoir is shallow, the average does not exceed 2 m. There are pits closer to the center. In them, the depth reaches almost 4 m. It is practically not used for tourism and fishing, since one part of the reservoir is located on the territory of the Mikhailovskoe Museum-Reserve, and the other part is part of Pushkinogorye. The bottom is mostly silty, but in some places there are stones and sand. The shores are sloping, the approaches to the water are steep. Wetlands are often found. The pond is surrounded by forests and meadows. Vegetation under water is well developed, it creates favorable conditions for many species of fish. Large quantities of bream, roach, pike, perch, etc. are found here. The villages of Petrovskoye and Mikhailovskoye are located near the lake.
Petrovskoe Lake in the Moscow Region
In the Moscow region, near the small village of Zarudnya, there is another Petrovsky lake. This reservoir was formed in the floodplain of one of the most significant rivers in Russia - the Oka. Administratively, the territory of the reservoir belongs to the Kolomnadistrict. The oxbow lake is small, has an oval shape. It covers an area of less than one square kilometer (0.6 km2). The average width of the water area is about 300 m, and the length is up to 3 km. Although Petrovskoye is flowing, there are few fish living here. In order to catch at least something, you need to know certain places. And this information is owned only by local residents. There are practically no visiting fishermen and tourists. The coastline is unattractive for recreation. There are absolutely no forests. But almost the entire coast is occupied by different villages, it is worth noting that there are a lot of them in this area.
Petrovskoye Lake in the Leningrad Region
Another Petrovsky lake is located in the Leningrad region, and to be more precise, in the Priozersky district. It is separated from the village of the same name by 1.5 km, and from the Petäjärvi railway station a little more - 5 km. The lake occupies a little over 85 hectares. It is the source of a small stream that flows into the Petrovka River. On the coast there are bases, a camp, some private dachas and arable land. There is no forest zone, only in some places there are shrubs.
Near the southeast coast there is a section of the lake, which is swampy for about 20 m. In summer, the reservoir blooms quite strongly. This is due to a farm that constantly pollutes the lake.
Petrovskoye Lake in the Altai Territory
Petrovskoye Lake (photo of which is below) is also in the Altai Territory. It can be found in the Troitsky district. It is located very close to the village of Ozero-Petrovsky. The climate on thisterritory is dominated by continental. The places are quite quiet.
