This mountain, resembling a bear with its muzzle buried in the sea surface, is known far beyond Crimea.

You can admire its intricate shape from any beach in Partenita, but you don't have to be satisfied with just that. The height of the mountain - 577 meters - allows almost everyone, even a child, to climb to its top. From the top you have a wonderful view of the entire coast. The mountain is covered with lush vegetation, in particular, pistachios and strawberry trees, unusual for a person of middle latitudes, grow there.

Interestingly, Ayudag is a failed volcano. It is valuable for its minerals. The mountain consists of gabbro-diabase, an igneous rock that is often used as a lining. It is with this mineral that the stands on Red Square are processed. If you carefully look under your feet, climbing a mountain path, you can find pyrite - a pebble that looks like gold at first glance. In fact, it is composed of sulfur and iron. The ancient Incas made mirrors out of it.

Partenit, Crimea (attractions): Turquoise Lake

Yes, that's the color of the water in it. The lake is located at an altitude of 610 meters and is fed by underground sources. You can easily climb on foot or come by SUV. For those wishing to spend the night near the water surface, paid tourist parking is provided.

Partenit (attractions): "Karasan"

This palace is one of the first in the list of must-visit places. Now the sanatorium of the same name is located here, and earlier it was the estate of the Raevskys. The main building was built in the Moorish style. Rich stucco, openwork woodcarving, rich ornamental patterns, spacious terraces and attics, small domes on the roof brighten up the massiveness of the building and make it light and airy.

Gagarina's Palace

Sometimes it seems that a vacation in a small village does not promise much oohs and aahs from contact with the beautiful. Nevertheless, such sights of Partenit as the estate of Princess Gagarina destroy this stereotype.

This is a symbol of love and fidelity. The compact palace in the Romanesque style was built in 1907 for her early deceased husband by the widowed Princess Anastasia Davidovna. The project was developed by the architect N. Krasnov. With its crenellated turrets and narrow loophole windows, it looks like a medieval castle. The color scheme of the facade is reminiscent of the Massandra Palace: terracotta tiles on the roof and walls entwined with ivy in a warm yellow hue with stone cladding look very organic. An atmosphere of slight sadness reigns here, which is set by the monument to the sad young princess with a rose in her hands.

Stone Museum

There are such unique sights of Partenit, which have no equal in the whole world. This museum is an example. Local resident Alexander Kulish put together a truly unique exposition of more than 4 thousand exhibits. From all over the world - from the Caucasus, the Urals, America - he brings fossils and gems, ordinary and not quite. Some of them are completely unsightly. But in his workshop, Alexander gets to the core of the stone, and then marvelous pictures, drawn millions of years ago without any human participation, open up to the eye. And fantasy helps to see even some plots in these abstractions (for example, Peter the Great, admiring a ship, a herd of mammoths or a sunset). The owner of the museum has learned to find the soul of a stone and extract it from a heavy-duty shell. Not to visit this museum is to deprive yourself of the delight of the beauty of nature.

What else to see

Other sights of Partenit are a 200-year-old olive grove in the park of the sanatorium "Aivazovskoye", a well-groomed garden complex "Paradise", a light and music fountain "Prometheus", a small but deep mountain reservoir Ai-Yefim, capes Plaka and Medvezhonok. A week is hardly enough to visit all the interesting places.

Therefore, many will want to return to Partenit next year. Sights, photos of which will remind you of the unforgettable days spent in this Crimean village for a long time, will cause pleasant nostalgia.
