The correct name of the park can be considered "Pokrovskoye-Glebovo", but "Pokrovskoye-Streshnevo" has taken root better. The park is now where it once was.was the village of Pokrovskoye. Many Muscovites simply call the park "Pokrovsky".

Bought the village in 1664 by Rodion Streshnev, later he was the tutor of Peter the Great himself. Until 1626, the Streshnev family was not famous, this happened only after they became related to the royal family. The Streshnevs later became direct relatives of the future ruler Alexei Romanov.

When the new owners acquired the village, it seemed to come to life. Ponds were dug on the territory, fish were bred in them, and multiple economic services were lined up. For 250 years, the Streshnevs have been building a family nest. During this time, a mansion was erected, a church, greenhouses, a refectory were built.

The second part joined the name of the estate, when Elizaveta Streshneva, having married, took a double surname. The last owner of the estate was already Evgenia Fedorovna Shakhovskaya-Glebova-Streshneva. She once again restored the mansion, and in this form it has survived to this day.

After the revolution of 1917, the Bolsheviks turned the local buildings into a sanatorium. In the 20th century, museums, a rest home, and even a research institute were located here. Now the mansion is protected by the state, but has not yet been restored.
