City of Arkhangelsk: Talagi Airport

A short distance from Arkhangelsk (approximately 6 kilometers) is the Talagi airport, from which the Russian company "Nordavia-RA", engaged in air transportation, operates local and international flights. Tickets can be purchased directly at the box office or booked by phone or online service. Passengers whose flights are made in the morning are advised to take into account that bridges are raised in the city at night. This can make getting around the streets of a city like Arkhangelsk somewhat difficult.

The airport, in addition to the base airline Nordavia-RA, receives and sends charter flights to countries that are of great interest to Russian tourists.

A bit of history

The airport received its name from two settlements of Talagi located in the immediate vicinity. Initially, it was created as a military airfield. Construction was started during the Patriotic War. It is currently used by civil aviation. In 1963, the main passenger flights were from northern cities located in close proximity, as well as quite in demandroute Moscow-Arkhangelsk.

Airport after reconstruction

Thanks to the reconstruction of the terminal complex, it has acquired a modern and comfortable look. Passengers arriving and waiting for a flight can be accommodated in cozy hotel rooms. It is located directly in the administrative building. This decision allows visitors not to feel discomfort when visiting Arkhangelsk.

Talagi Airport is currently refurbished to European standards. For the convenience of boarding passengers, two modern telescopic ladders were mounted here. In addition, in 2015, the construction of an additional terminal began. Thanks to this, it became possible to further speed up the service for passengers departing and arriving at the airport.

Infrastructure

Talagi Airport (Arkhangelsk) is equipped as comfortably as possible. Here, each passenger will not be left without the care and attention of the attendants. There are left-luggage offices, a post office, a medical center and, of course, a rest room for a mother with a child at the airport. While waiting for your flight, you are invited to have a bite to eat in a cafe or restaurant, pass the time shopping, walking through the numerous shops and kiosks. You can also exchange currency on the territory of the airport terminal or replenish your wallet with cash using the services of ATMs.

You can get to Talagi by regularly moving buses or fixed-route taxis, providing continuoustransport links with large areas that make up Arkhangelsk. The airport, it is worth noting, is located quite conveniently, for example, you can get from the Marine Station using the bus route No. 12, and from the railway - No. 32. This route is also served by a fixed-route taxi (No. 53).
