Lipetsk and Voronezh regions are located in the south of central Russia and therefore are considered southern. The weather there, relative to the whole country, is quite warm - winter without prickly frosts, summer is hot.

And for tourists who love extreme sports and physical activity, this path can be overcome even by bicycle. Voronezh and Lipetsk are located on the plain. This means that there will definitely be no difficulties in conquering mountains and hills.

On the road from Voronezh to Lipetsk, nature strikes with its breadth and saturation of colors. In these areas there are no dense forests, the vast expanse of fields and the boundless skyopens to the human eye as soon as the city picture ends.

Tales of Lipetsk

Healing mineral waters are the main asset of this city. There is even an entertaining legend about this, in which the people of Lipsk tell how Peter I visited the Lipetsk factories, and after the visit, according to an old Russian tradition, he celebrated his arrival with the factory workers. And he felt so bad in the morning, but he drank the water that the workers brought him, and he felt much better. After this incident, the emperor ordered to extract mineral waters in Lipetsk.

City named after Peter I

The symbol of Lipetsk is the monument to Peter I, which stands on the square of the same name. The monument is quite monumental, Peter is depicted somewhat boldly, he confidently steps forward, and this sight attracts the eye. Also in the city there are many fountains that are illuminated in the evening, creating a truly fabulous atmosphere. Komsomolsky pond is similar to all classic ponds in other cities, where people feed ducks and relax in the bosom of nature, but here the geometric shapes of the pond are striking, which, it would seem, do not fit with the general view of Lipetsk, but still carry a wonderful urban culture.

Lipetsk is also called the city of terrorists, because it was here that at the end of the 19th century a congress of the People's Will organization was held, whose members subsequently killed Emperor Alexander II. The monument to the People's Will is located in the depths of the Lower Park.

Lipetsk region may also be of interest to tourists who love relaxationOutdoors. The Argamach Archaeological Park, where you can sit in a comfortable yurt, take a steam bath, walk along the he alth path and visit the open-air museum, is a unique place in the Lipetsk region. The he alth trail includes a hike to the spring, fording several small rivers, a tourist atmosphere and good company.

Another unique place is the Ascension Cathedral in the city of Yelets, which was built according to the plan of the famous architect Konstantin Ton and is the third largest cathedral in Russia.
