Mil left for Voronezh…
During the Great Patriotic War, the city of Voronezh was almost wiped off the face of the earth, many objects did not survive, but, despite this, now a curious tourist will find something interesting and informative for himself.
In Voronezh, there are small merchant houses, old lanes that remind of the century before last. Staro-Moskovskaya street is filled with a special atmosphere, which is a must-walk for those who arrived in Voronezh for the first time. Of course, the monument to White Bim, the hero of the story “White Bim-Black Ear”, who traditionally needs to stroke his black ear to bring good luck into his life, will touch the hearts of the guests of the city. Non-traditional trends of modern art will not leave you indifferent - the “Healing Chair”, on which people suffering from “redneck” should sit in order to recharge themselves with good, and a monument to a kitten from Lizyukov Street, which immortalized a funny character from a Soviet cartoon.
Fans of church architecture will love the views of the Annunciation Cathedral, Alekseev-Akatov Monastery, the Assumption Church and other examples of the spiritual heritage of Voronezh. You can relax in nature in the city center by looking into Petrovsky Square, where there is a one-of-a-kind sundial - and it really works! The shadow from the sun shows the time on them to the nearest minute. Also here is the largest fountain in Voronezh. At night, it is illuminated, due to which it formsa bizarre drawing, and you can look at this play of colors endlessly.
Tales of Lipetsk
Healing mineral waters are the main asset of this city. There is even an entertaining legend about this, in which the people of Lipsk tell how Peter I visited the Lipetsk factories, and after the visit, according to an old Russian tradition, he celebrated his arrival with the factory workers. And he felt so bad in the morning, but he drank the water that the workers brought him, and he felt much better. After this incident, the emperor ordered to extract mineral waters in Lipetsk.
City named after Peter I
The symbol of Lipetsk is the monument to Peter I, which stands on the square of the same name. The monument is quite monumental, Peter is depicted somewhat boldly, he confidently steps forward, and this sight attracts the eye. Also in the city there are many fountains that are illuminated in the evening, creating a truly fabulous atmosphere. Komsomolsky pond is similar to all classic ponds in other cities, where people feed ducks and relax in the bosom of nature, but here the geometric shapes of the pond are striking, which, it would seem, do not fit with the general view of Lipetsk, but still carry a wonderful urban culture.
Lipetsk is also called the city of terrorists, because it was here that at the end of the 19th century a congress of the People's Will organization was held, whose members subsequently killed Emperor Alexander II. The monument to the People's Will is located in the depths of the Lower Park.
Lipetsk region may also be of interest to tourists who love relaxationOutdoors. The Argamach Archaeological Park, where you can sit in a comfortable yurt, take a steam bath, walk along the he alth path and visit the open-air museum, is a unique place in the Lipetsk region. The he alth trail includes a hike to the spring, fording several small rivers, a tourist atmosphere and good company.
Another unique place is the Ascension Cathedral in the city of Yelets, which was built according to the plan of the famous architect Konstantin Ton and is the third largest cathedral in Russia. Church architecture lovers will love a trip to the city of Zadonsk, which is rightfully considered the spiritual center of the region.
