Bali International Airport called Ngurah Rai, or simply Denpasar, is located thirteen kilometers south of Denpasar - the official capital of the island, between the small resort towns of Jimbaran and Kuta. This is the main transport hub, quite modern and well equipped. To date, Bali Airport has all the necessary amenities of an international-class air port. Inside its domestic and international terminals, there are counters of various airlines and major hotels, as well as left-luggage offices and bank exchange offices with ATMs.
Highlights of the airport
At present, Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport serves large flows of passengers daily and is only slightly behind the country's main airport, Sukarno Hatta, located in the millionaire city of Tangerang, in terms of its workload. According to estimates, this air pier receives about five million passengers.every year, while experts believe that in five years this number will reach twenty million.
Historical background
The Ngurah Rai International Air Pier received its name in honor of one of the most famous and respected Balinese heroes. This military leader for many years fought for the independence of the country during the conquest of the latter by the Dutch colonialists. The airport terminal was built on the island in 1931 and almost immediately received its current name.
Bali Airport: how to get there
As mentioned earlier, the international airport in Bali is located thirty kilometers from the capital Denpasar, about thirty to thirty-five minutes away. You can get to the terminals both by numerous private minibuses and city buses, as well as by taxi. In the latter case, you can use the services of private drivers or order a car to the airport in an official service. It should be borne in mind that the upcoming trip will need to be paid in advance. On average, the cost of the road to the airport by taxi will be about eighty to one hundred and twenty thousand rupees, which is about eight to ten US dollars. The cost of travel by city bus will cost a tourist much cheaper. The price of the trip is usually fixed and equal to ten thousand rupees. Among other things, do not forget that most of the hotels located on the island offer their guests such a service as a transfer. Helpful managers will clearly control the time of arrival of the car and make sure that tourists are not late for the start of registration.
Bali Airport Plan
The airport in Bali (Indonesia), whose name comes from the name of the national hero, consists of two terminals - domestic and international. The first is a rather old and very small building. Many passengers arriving in Bali note the rather low quality of service provided in the domestic terminal. As for the international air terminal complex, it is located in a new three-story building and has an L-shape. This terminal has a very developed infrastructure and demonstrates excellent service. On the territory of this airport complex, tourists are provided with their services by several restaurants and fast food cafes, as well as duty-free shops, souvenir stalls, prayer rooms, a variety of massage parlors, shower rooms and recreation areas equipped with children's playgrounds. In addition, Bali Airport gives its passengers the opportunity to visit a small cinema hall and thus pass the time while waiting for a flight.
Major international airlines
Today, about fifty different air carriers organize flights from this air port. For example, China Airlines, Air New Zeland, Korean Air and AirAsia fly to Bali. The airport also receives flights of such aircarriers like Citilink, Qatar Airways, KLM, Virgin Australia and Thai Airways. Flights from Russia are currently offered by Nordwind Airlines, Aeroflot, Vladivostok Air and Transaero. They fly to Denpasar-Novosibirsk, Denpasar-Moscow, Denpasar-Yekaterinburg and Denpasar-Khabarovsk. As for the duration of flights to Russia, for example, a flight to the capital of the Russian Federation can take from fifteen to eighteen hours with one change. Direct flights from Moscow airports to Denpasar International Airport are sold, as a rule, only complete with ready-made travel packages. Travel time in this case is significantly reduced and is about eleven to twelve hours. At the same time, it should be noted that the average cost of one air ticket is one thousand two hundred - one thousand five hundred US dollars.
