On the high bank of the Oka, in a pine forest, there is a sanatorium "Velegozh" (Tula region). The forests are protected. The trees are over 100 years old. These regions have the highest air ionization among the central regions of the Russian Federation.
Sanatorium "Velegozh" is located on the border of three regions: Tula, Moscow and Kaluga. At the same time, 340 people can rest here. The resort is open all year round. The territory of the resort is large-scale: along the right bank of the Oka, it occupies 84 hectares. There are several underground springs with miraculous water. During the season, there are many mushrooms and berries in the forest. The bottom of the river near the sanatorium is sandy, less often - rocky. Swimming in the Oka is allowed, but for Velegozha vacationers it is better to get a doctor's recommendation first. There is good fishing on the river, and the patients of the sanatorium have the opportunity to take a rowing boat and ride on the water.

Rooms for living are located in five-story buildings. The rooms are designed for one, 2 or 3 people. Also, the sanatorium has deluxe rooms for two people. All rooms have a balcony with a beautiful view of the forests and the river. Each room has amenities. Deluxe rooms are additionally equipped with a refrigerator and TV.
Sanatorium "Velegozh" (Tula region) accepts for treatment patients with diseases of the nervous system, respiratory tract, skin, blood circulation, endocrine system, musculoskeletal system, metabolic disorders, diseases of the cardiovascular system and eyes. The sanatorium provides 60 types of medical services. Three, four or five meals a day, depending on the disease. There are various diet tables. Dishes are prepared by highly qualified chefs according to the declared or ordered menu. It is possible to receive a separate, protein or vegetarian diet.
History of the sanatorium "Velegozh"
Velegozh resort (Tula region) has quitelong history. On the site of the current buildings in 1906, the local doctor Tarasov built a large wooden house and opened a preventive clinic. Not only Tula residents came here, but also patients from the capital. But, unfortunately, the revolution interrupted this story. The premises of the clinic have not been preserved, but, perhaps, the botanical garden, which today adorns the sanatorium, remained from Dr. Tarasov.
In the late 1920s and early 1930s, a tuberculosis sanatorium was opened here from the administration of the Tula region. It existed until the opening of the Velegozh Rest House from the Ministry of Railways of the USSR. In the early 60s of the last century, it was transferred to the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions. Currently, "Velegozh" (sanatorium, Tula region) is a private property. Its owners maintain a high level of recreation, treatment and service.

Recreation in "Velegozha" (Tula region) will not be boring either for sports fans, or for lovers of intellectual excursions, or for people who prefer passive pastime. The water in the stream is clean and absolutely transparent. On the territory of "Velegozh" there are many cozy places where you can play, have a good time or have a picnic. Many different birds live in the park of the sanatorium, which fill the surroundings with their sonorous voices. They are not afraid of people at all.
