Freshwater lake Sinara is one of the largest mountain lakes in the Chelyabinsk region. The reservoir has elongated shapes from northwest to southeast: length - 9 kilometers, width - 4. The total area of the lake is about 2.5 thousand hectares. The average depth of the lake is 8 meters, the maximum is 14.5. The water is clear, visibility is more than 3 meters. The bottom of the reservoir is sandy and rocky. Through rivers, channels and streams, the Chelyabinsk Lakes are connected into a single system. Sinara is united with the following reservoirs: Tatysh, Karaguz, Cherkaskul, Okunkul, Chigany, Chernovskoye, Tashkul and Bagaryai. The Istok River, flowing from Itkul, flows into the reservoir, and the eponymous water stream, Sinara, flows out. Lake Sinara is a place of rest for the population of the closed city of Snezhinsk and tourists coming from all over the Russian Federation.

Etymology of the name and legend

The name of the reservoir has Komi-Permyak roots (the lands were inhabited by these peoples in ancient times) and is translated as “spring, spring water”. But there is another explanation of the name, which is accompanied by a legend. Back in the days of the Demidov dynasty, who owned the localplaces, a girl, probably a Spaniard, was brought here from a trip to Europe. The merchant settled her on the Nebaska stone and, upon arrival at the Karabashov and Kasli factories, visited her. Local people say that from homesickness and a loved one, she threw herself off a rocky shore and crashed against the stones. Large crests of waves hid her body forever. In honor of the girl whom everyone called "señora", they named the lake.

Nature of Sinara

The lake is surrounded by a birch-pine forest on three sides. The eastern edge of Sinara is open. The coast is clean, rocky areas give way to beautiful sandy beaches. The reservoir does not overgrow, since there are practically no reeds on the lake. Among the vegetation, ancient pines with bare roots, which are intricately intertwined, are often found. Blueberries and strawberries grow in large quantities in the forest. Right on the shore there are trees under which you can hide from the scorching heat. The infrastructure around the lake is quite simple: a cafe in the village of Vozdvizhenka, three shops in the same place, there is one recreation center (Sinara country house - 1.5 thousand rubles per day per person) and several houses for fishermen and hunters. Beautiful and picturesque lake Sinara! Photos fully convey the charm of this mountain reservoir. Of the sights, one can only name an old church in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God "The Sign" in the village of Voskresensky. It was built at the beginning of the 19th century by architect Mikhail Malakhov. The church belongs to the best examples of classicism in the Southern Urals.

Lake ecology

On the banks of the Sanara is the city of Snezhinsk and the village of Voskresenskoye. After a man-made accident in 1957 at the closed Mayak enterprise, radioactive dust did not get into the lake. So say the experts who conducted the research. Rain and melt water from settlements flow into the reservoir without any purification. But both residents of Snezhinsk and visiting tourists bathe in the lake. In recent years, Sinara began to bloom strongly in summer and emit a not very pleasant smell. But the city administration claims that this process is not dangerous for human he alth and life. The boundary of the forbidden zone of the closed city of Snezhinsk runs along the surface of the lake. In winter, barbed wire fences are put up on the ice. The borders of the territory are guarded by a military unit. A significant part of the lake coast belongs to the territory of the closed city of Snezhinsk. Visiting tourists can rest and fish only from the village of Vozdvizhenka.

Recreation and fishing

There is a paid option for recreation and fishing on the lake. For this, a specially fenced area has been set aside, which is located outside the village of Vozdvizhenka. Ticket price - 500 rubles per car. The price includes parking, fishing and garbage collection. Here you can rent a boat and buy firewood. If you do not expect to pay for services, then you do not need to enter Vozdvizhenka, but you should turn east and drive along a good gravel road. It's never empty here. Even in the cold summer there are tents of vacationers and fishermen. Fishing in Sinara is possible both from the shore and from the boat. But at depth, the fish are larger, that is, the prey is more attractive. Perch, crucian carp, large ruff, pike, whitefish, roach, tench and chebak are found in the lake. It is better to bring firewood with you. And it is recommended to clean up garbage always and everywhere.
