If there is enough time, then during the trip it is worth stopping by the pretty city of Liski on the Don. Near it is Divnogorie - a picturesque place with chalk pillars, a reserve and a monastery. Museums and parks deserve attention in the city of Liski.

Even further south along the same highway is the city of Pavlovsk, where there is a museum, a large granite quarry and about 40 architectural monuments.

Already near Rostov-on-Don, you can turn to the city of Shakhty to see its monuments, parks and examples of local architecture.

Sights of Voronezh

From the literary heroes in Voronezh you can see the monument to White Bim near the puppet theater. The architecture is beautiful, it is worth visiting the Akatov Monastery, paying attention to the Opera and Ballet Theater and the Cathedral of the Annunciation.

What to visit in Rostov and surroundings?

Rostov differs from Voronezh by its location near the sea, there are so many interesting places in the city and around it that it will take a week to fully explore the lower Don.

Rostov has a beautiful embankment, and many pre-revolutionary buildings, such as Chernova's mansion, have been preserved in the historical center.

Museums with a variety of topics are interesting - from local history to railway transport and astronautics.

From Rostov it is worth going to Taganrog, Azov, Aksai, Novocherkassk, Starocherkassk and the village of Nedvigovka to the ruins of ancient Tanais.
