A grand reconstruction took place in the 80s on the eve of the XXIII Summer Olympic Games. The airport does not stand still, it is annually expanded, modernized and reconstructed. To date, over $4 billion has been allocated to upgrade the terminals, and the project is expected to be completed by 2015.
