Chisinau Airport is the main airport in Moldova. The only international air harbor in the country. Chisinau Airport is the base for Air Moldova, which operates the majority of flights.
The airport has been nominated for the "Best Airport of the Year among the CIS countries" award for several years in a row, and in 2011 it became its laureate. Chisinau Airport's runway is the longest in Eastern Europe.

Airport – Chisinau: how to get to the city center
The airport is located at a distance of 13 km from the city. You can get from the airport to the city center by your own car, public transport or taxi.
By private car from the airport you can get to the sectorBotany on the street. Aerodrome (str. Aeroportului), which at the entrance to the city turns into Blvd. Dacia.
Taxi services
Taxis are best booked directly in the arrival hall, the price of a trip to the city center is 80-100 lei, which at the rate at the time of writing is about 4-5 €. In the center of Chisinau there is a railway station and a central bus station, from where regular bus routes operate to the cities and villages of the center of Moldova - Anenii Noi, Strasheni, Causeni, Bendery, Tiraspol and others.
It is worth mentioning that in Moldova the bus service between cities is much better than the railway one. Regular buses on local and international routes depart from three main bus stations - South, North and Central.
Taxi from the airport to the South or North Station will cost more - from 100 to 120 lei (6-7 €). Regular buses depart from the South Bus Station to Ialoveni, Hincesti, Cahul, Cantemir and Leova. From the North Station, buses go to Orhei, B alti, Soroca and Briceni.
It is possible to order a taxi directly from the airport to other cities of Moldova, in this case the price is calculated at the rate of 5 lei per km.
Public transport
Public transport from the airport to Chisinau is made up of the city bus Express "A" and the city taxi number 165.
The bus departs from the bus stop just outside the arrivals hall at 40 minute intervals. The final stop of the bus Express "A" - square D. Cantemira in the center of Chisinau, opposite the State Pedagogical University.
The bus passes the Botanica sector on blvd. Dacia and blvd. Decebal and the central sector of the city on blvd. Gagarin, bul. Negruci and bul. Stefan cel Mare. The way from the airport to the center, depending on the intensity of traffic, takes from 40 to 60 minutes. One-way bus fare is 3 lei. The work schedule is from 7:00 to 19:00 daily.
City taxi No. 165 departs from the bus stop at intervals of 10-15 minutes and goes to the center of Chisinau to the final stop on the street. Izmail, opposite the Central Department Store. The route from the airport is almost identical - Dacia Ave., blvd. Decebal, blvd. Gagarin, bul. Negrutsi and crossroads blvd. Stefan cel Mare and st. Ishmael. Depending on traffic congestion, the journey from the airport to the city takes from 40 to 80 minutes.
The convenience of the minibus compared to the bus is that the 165s run more often, leave the airport from 5:30 daily and run at intervals of 10 minutes until 22:00. In addition, the final stop of the minibus is the central hub of public transport in Chisinau and is located ten minutes on foot from the Central Bus Station.
From st. Shuttle taxis depart from Izmail to different parts of the city, as well as towards the Southern Bus Station - No. 120, 117, 192, 178, and the Northern Bus Station - No. 173, 186, 178.
Other cities in Moldova
You can get from other cities of Moldova to the airport by taxi, at a price of 4-5 lei per km or by regular busesarriving at the three main bus stations. For example, consider the city of B alti, buses from which go to the Northern Bus Station, the city of Cahul, the bus service to which operates from the Southern Bus Station, and the capital of the unrecognized Republic of Transnistria - Tiraspol, from where regular buses come to the central bus station of Chisinau.

The modes of transport mentioned above are official. Among the huge number of cars waiting at the airport building, there are many illegal cabbies who are ready to ask for a trip much more expensive. That is why you should order a taxi directly at the counter of official operators in the arrivals hall.located at the exit of the airport building.
In local newspapers in Chisinau and other cities there are a lot of ads offering transportation directly to the door of the airport. This option is much cheaper than a taxi, and is not inferior to it in terms of speed and comfort, however, it is not officially traceable and may be unsafe.
