How to get to Domodedovo. Metro and other options

Recently, Muscovites and numerous guests of the capital have more and more problems on their way to Domodedovo International Airport. The metro usually helps to cover only half the distance to the country's largest aviation harbor. And numerous traffic jams at the entrances to the Kashirskoye highway every time cast doubt on the ability to catch your flight. The situation becomes especially tense during peak hours.

Moscow - Domodedovo. Metro and Aeroexpress

The only guaranteed way to be in time for the departure of the flight is to use Aeroexpress. It leaves for Domodedovo Airport from the platform of the Paveletsky railway station with an interval of half an hour. Travel time is just over 40 minutes. The railway does not depend on traffic jams. The cost of one trip is 340 rubles. Considering this way of traveling to the airport as ideal is hindered only by the fact that for many passengers it is inconvenient. It is not much easier to arrive at the Paveletsky railway station than at the Domodedovo airport itself. The metro station is located quite far from it. It misleads some guests of the capital with its name. Not everyone realizes that this is not an airport, but only a transfer toway to it. But it is the Domodedovskaya metro station of the Zamoskvoretskaya line that is the final stop of several public transport routes that provide passenger transportation around the clock in the direction of the airport.

To Domodedovo Airport from the city center

A significant part of the passengers transit through Moscow. Most often they end up on Komsomolskaya Square. After they got to the capital, they have to make their way to Domodedovo. Metro "Komsomolskaya" on the Koltsevaya line allows you to go directly to the Paveletsky railway station to the "Aeroexpress". Shuttle taxis and an express bus depart from the same metro station in the direction of the airport.

Will the metro arrive at Domodedovo Airport?

This question has been discussed for decades. It was relevant even in Soviet times. And since then, the transport reach of the airport has only changed for the worse. There are several options for laying transport communications in the direction of Domodedovo. The metro can be built here, in particular, by continuing the open way to the south of the Zamoskvoretskaya line. But recently, the option of the so-called light metro has been considered more preferable. In fact, this is the same electric train, only with a very short departure interval and converted rolling stock cars. This option is much cheaper. But its huge minus forpassengers will be the fact that the light metro is not integrated into the overall scheme of the Moscow metro. If such a project is accepted for execution, then at the Paveletsky railway station you will have to change to the Koltsevaya line, passing through the turnstile. Of course, such a prospect cannot please either Muscovites or guests of the capital. But no decision has been made yet.
