The capital of Tatarstan: from antiquity to the future

Everyone knows that Kazan is the capital of Tatarstan. But few people thought that this city could be called the center of the East European Plain. Located eight hundred kilometers from Moscow, at the confluence of the Volga and Kama, the capital of Tatarstan is in no way inferior to the capital of the Russian Federation either in architecture or in social or scientific development.

The capital of Tatarstan is more than a thousand years old. Surprisingly, the modern city has managed not only to acquire the features of the future, but also to preserve its ancient appearance. The historical center of the city is amazing: former tenement and merchant houses, religious buildings, industrial buildings that have been standing here since the past centuries form an incredible architectural ensemble that amazes tourists.

The capital of Tatarstan is unique not only in terms of architecture. More than ten universities, six academies, several religious educational institutions, three military schools and several branches of Moscow universities are based here. The Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan is known far beyond Russia for its achievements.

Where there are many educational institutions, there are many young people. In order for boys and girls to have a good rest, the capital of Tatarstan has opened dozens of nightclubs, many restaurants with unique cuisine, and dozens of other entertainment venues.

Kazan is the most developed sports city in our country. That is why the World Universiade will be held here in the summer, which is another reason to visit this unique city. The Sports Village built on the occasion of the Universiade is the only complex of its kind in the world. It is expected that after the Universiade it will become a club of federal importance for the training of Russian national teams. And it's almost a thousand kilometers from Moscow!

One can talk about Kazan for a long time, but it is best to visit this city at least once. Because the capital of Tatarstan is the best example of howlook forward to the future, honoring the past and cherishing the present.
