What is attractive about a beach holiday in Thailand?

The coast of Thailand stretches for thousands of kilometers. It is washed by the waters of the Andaman and South China (in the Gulf of Thailand) seas. It is so diverse that absolutely every guest will find a piece of paradise for himself: both a comfort lover and a fan of "wild" recreation.

And on numerous islands, the beaches of Thailand are simply amazing. This is explained simply - getting to the islands is more difficult than to the resorts located on the mainland. To do this, you need to sail on the ferry, there are much fewer vacationers here, therefore, the sea and the coast are not so spoiled by civilization.

There are several hundred beaches in the country, so we won't even try to cover them all. We will limit ourselves to just a few - we will present you the bestthe beaches of Thailand, which are of interest to tourists. We will introduce you to world-famous resorts, as well as less popular, but no less beautiful.

The best beaches in Thailand: Jomtien (Pattaya)

This wonderful place is located in Pattaya, Thailand's most visited resort by Russian tourists. The city is attractive because of the cheapness of everything: food, shopping, hotels. There are always many vacationers here. Therefore, it is better to go on vacation to the Jompien area, which is located a few kilometers from Pattaya.

It is much calmer here, there are much fewer people, picturesque green meadows begin very close to the coast. If you ask: “What are the best beaches in Thailand?”, 90% of tourists will name this beach for you. Throughout the year, you can comfortably relax here, since there is no rainy season in this area, the sea is almost always calm, there are no low tides, typical for many other resorts, when the water leaves more than fifty meters from the coast.

The coast is covered with white sand, the entrance to the water is quite steep, the depth begins almost immediately, so this is the only reason why it is not recommended to relax with children here.

Klong Prao (Koh Chang Island)

Describing the beautiful beaches of Thailand, one cannot but mention the central and longest of them - Klong Prao, located on the island of Koh Chang. The purest azure sea, soft white sand, palm trees leaning towards the sea. There is no paved road here, so you can forget about civilization and completelyenjoy the magnificent nature.

The coast of Klong Prao stretches for several kilometers. To the north of it is Chai Chet beach, no less attractive for tourists, separated from Klong Prao by a small river, about 20 meters wide. Comfortable hotels have been built in the south (for example, Amari).

Both beaches are characterized by a gentle entry into the water. There are quite often low tides, during which the water goes more than a hundred meters.

Lamai

As we have already mentioned, the best (in our opinion) beaches in Thailand are located on the islands. For example, on Koh Samui, you can have a great time on Lamai Beach. Its length is several kilometers. It organically combines developed infrastructure, picturesque landscapes and low population. There are areas where there are very few people, probably because they are not very well equipped, but there are well-equipped areas with sun umbrellas, sunbeds, masseurs right on the coast and a variety of water activities.

The coast is wide, covered with white sand. It is quite suitable for family holidays. We do not recommend coming here in autumn, when the long rainy season begins on Koh Samui.

Long Beach

The beaches of Thailand (you can see the photo in our article) are conducive to complete relaxation and rest not only for the body, but also for the soul. Long Beach does not have the usual noisy nightlife for resorts, several hotels are on the first line. The coast is sandy, the sea is clean. Rest hereattracts with tranquility and solitude. From May to October-November, there are usually huge waves here.

Nang Tong

Thailand's beaches quite often attract people seeking to take a break from the bustle and noise of the city, to get away from popular tourist trails. The length of Nang Thong is several kilometers. For a "wild" holiday (without hotels), the northern part is best suited. Those wishing to relax more comfortably are advised to go to the southern or central sections.

Sandy beach. Some areas right behind the sand are covered with green grass. The entrance to the water is quite steep. Between May and October, Nang Thong beach usually has very high waves that make swimming difficult, so it is advisable to visit this resort from November to the end of April.

Kaw Kwang and Klong Dao (Lanta)

Thailand's beaches quite often resemble a colorful picture from an advertising booklet. This fully applies to the Kaw Kwang beach, located in the west of Lanta. In the morning, tourists wake up to the sound of the surf, there is a forest all around, there are no cars, no motorcycles, no noisy bars, local residents offering to buy something. Only two bungalow type hotels with a restaurant. The cleanest sea, gentle sun, picturesque greenery, clean sea air and an almost empty beach - what else can a tired metropolis resident want?

If you want to have some fun, walk 30 minutes along the coast and you will find yourself on Klong Dao. This is undoubtedly the best and most visited beach of Lanta. The infrastructure is well developed here - hotels andrestaurants, bars and travel agencies, massage parlors. There are bank branches here, of course, ATMs, motorbike rental, shops.

Had Rin Nok (Phangan)

Many beaches in Thailand have become world famous. An example of this is a place located on Koh Phangan, in the south of the island. This beach is famous for the Full Moon Party. It runs monthly. If you like to party, you won't find a better place.

On the coast there are about ten bars equipped with modern sound systems. Here the music plays all night long. The rest of the time, when there are no parties, this beach is suitable for a traditional beach holiday. The luxurious sandy coast stretches for almost a kilometer. The beach is clean and wide, well equipped and well maintained.

Kata (Phuket)

And this is one of the most famous beaches of Phuket, stretching for more than a kilometer. The coastline is quite wide. Here children can play next to the water. I must say that this beach, like no other, is suitable for a relaxing family holiday. The entrance to the water is very smooth - the first ten meters the water barely reaches the knee. The kids enjoy splashing in the shallow water, and the parents don't have to worry about them.

Almost the entire coast (except for the northern sections) has sun loungers and umbrellas. There are no pronounced ebbs and flows on Katya, but from the second half of May to October there are quite high waves and undercurrents are activated. Therefore, at this time it is better to choose another beach in Thailand.
