Syanovskiye caves cannot be called a miracle of nature. Best known as quarries, these artificial underground corridors were formed during the construction of Moscow. It was here that limestone was mined, which formed the basis of the "white stone" one. Syanovskie caves are among the five most ancient and largest underground systems in Russia. They are located in the Domodedovo city district, approximately 12 km from the Moscow Ring Road. Inside the underground corridors you can always meet people, there are a lot of visitors here. Many caves are provided with landmarks or points of interest that can be found using special maps compiled by enthusiasts.
Syanovskie caves appeared around the 17th century, were most actively used in the 19th and 20th centuries, after which they were closed. The entrance to them was filled up and closed to access until enthusiasts unearthed it. Not so long ago, the main vertical entrance and some horizontal tunnels were fortified in the caves. The main manholes and passages are located at a depth of 25 meters. The total length of the tunnels is about 19 km.

When descending into the caves, it is mandatory to sign up in the visit book. There it is necessary to indicate the time of descent and the estimated time of ascent to the surface. This information is constantly checked by rescuers, who can start searching for the missing in a timely manner.
Equipment for descending underground should protect from cold, moisture and possible impacts. Under ground it will be easy to get dirty, so don't dress up too much. It is better to choose clothes from technological materials. For each member of the expedition, you need to take a card. Also, a prerequisite is the presence of two flashlights for each person. When traveling underground, don't split up, it's better to stick together and explore the caves in good company.
