Swallow's Nest

The building is undoubtedly the main attraction of Gaspra. The magnificent building is located on a sheer cliff, on Cape Ai-Todor. In ancient times there was a wooden building,owned by a retired general. The Swallow's Nest that we see today is the merit of the oil tycoon Baron Steingel.

The architecture of the castle uses almost all geometric shapes - a cube, a cylinder, a parallelepiped, which in combination create a harmonious composition. The interior of the castle is also distinguished by the symmetrical arrangement of all rooms. The building is made of stone and lined with limestone. The main tower and small turrets are plastered on the outside.

Harax Palace and Park

The complex was built in a special style, which is different from all existing ones. Built by the remarkable master of his craft N. P. Krasnov, the palace still amazes with its beauty today. The palace got its name in honor of the Roman fortress, which was located in these places in the 3rd century BC.

The scale of the project was amazing even in the years of its creation - 46 rooms, a chapel, a church, a greenhouse, a large stable, a kitchen, a park, plumbing and sewage systems. Today, the Kharaks Palace is one of the sleeping buildings of the Dnepr sanatorium.

Church of St. Nina

This building was created by N. P. Krasnov, a well-known architect in those days, on the estate of the Grand Duke G. M. Romanov. Construction began in 1906, completed in 1908. G. M. Romanov decided to build a temple in the style of the architecture of Armenia and Georgia. The Grand Duke approved his decision. The mosaic for the temple was made by the artist from Venice A. Salviati. She decorates the entrance to the building.

The name of the church is directly related to Princess Nina Georgievna, the eldest daughterGrand Duke. She contracted diphtheria at the age of four and survived due to an operation performed on her in Hamburg on August 6, 1905. This is the day of the Transfiguration of the Lord. The church is named after the saint who performed the miracle of the princess's recovery.
