Location

Veterok is a camp site located near the village of Kalinina, in the Sredneakhtubinsky district of the Volgograd region. It is only 14 km from Srednyaya Akhtuba, 26 km from the town of Volzhsky and 43 km from Volgograd. You can get here by public transport. A regular bus runs from Volzhsky to the village of Kalinin 3 times a day (on weekdays), as well as minibus No. 111. You need to get off at the sign with the name of the camp site. "Veterok" - a camp site, located in a virgin deciduous-coniferous forest. On its rather spacious territory there is a lot of greenery, flowers, convenient paths are laid everywhere, there is a parking lot, equipped places for recreation by large companies, where you can cook barbecue with your own hands, places for children to play. The small zoo, where ostriches, donkeys, guinea fowls and some other animals live, is especially pleasing to both kids and adults. For active people who love to play sports, the Veterok tourist center (Middle Akhtuba) provides volleyball, basketball courts, a place for playing badminton and a hall with billiard and tennis tables. For beach lovers, literally 30-50 meters from the camp site there is a sandy beach with a gentle entry into the river and clear water. Vacationers of Veterka can relax in the sauna, and in the evening throw out their energy on the dance floor. In addition, the base has conditions for paintball.

Rooms

Veterok is a hostel where you can find a variety of accommodation options. Among them:

• Summer panel houses. These are two-story buildings (the second floor is an attic type), designed to accommodate from 4 to 10 people. The rooms have a minimal set of furniture (beds with armored nets and / or wooden beds), a table, chairs, bedside tables for things. Facilities are located within 20-30 meters. An external metal staircase leads to the attic floor. In everythe house has a small open veranda.
• Summer houses of category 2. These are one-story buildings intended for 4 vacationers. These houses have a minimum set of furniture plus air conditioning. Amenities within 20-30 meters on site.

• Luxury houses. These are wooden one-story buildings, designed to accommodate 3 or 8 people. All suites are equipped with a TV, refrigerator, split-system, kitchen equipment and utensils. A separate suite is located in the sauna building.
• Hotel. This is a detached one-story building of a rather unusual design and VIP class. There are only 3 double rooms, and in addition, a modern conference room equipped with the latest technology (30 seats), a billiard room and a kitchen. The hotel can accommodate from 6 to 10 people. All rooms are individually designed. Each has an excellent set of furniture (upholstered, bedroom, wardrobe, bedside tables, chest of drawers, table, chairs), TV, split system, air conditioning.

Food

Veterok camp site (Akhtuba) can offer its guests complex meals (breakfasts, lunches and dinners) at a price of 450 rubles per person per day orfood according to a customized menu (came, chose, ordered, paid) in a summer cafe and in a restaurant called the Hunter's House. There are conditions for banquets and celebrations. Also for special occasions at the base you can rent a dining room (up to 100 people) and an open area (up to 200 people). The restaurant, also known as a banquet hall, is decorated with stuffed animals, equipped with a fireplace and an area for business meetings.

Additional information

The camp site "Veterok" is great for a long vacation (from one week) and for relaxing on weekends and holidays. Children under 5 years of age are not charged unless they are provided with a separate bed. For children under 14 years old, payment is made at a rate of 50%. Children over the age of 14 must provide a passport to stay at the camp site. In detached houses, pets are allowed, provided that they have the appropriate documents. The hostel "Veterok" has set prices for rooms stable, not changing from season to season. The cost for a room in a category 3 house is 250 rubles per person per day, category 2 - 1,500 rubles for the entire house, in deluxe houses - from 3,000 rubles per room per day, in a deluxe room with a sauna - from 2,000 rubles per day per room.

Veterok hostel: reviews

This hostel has been popular for years. But its excellent work directly depends on the professionalism and conscientiousness of the staff. So, in 2011-2012, the reviews about the rest in Veterka were only enthusiastic, which cannot be said aboutreviews of tourists for 2013-2014. At the hostel, the staff of employees changed, and a lot of comments immediately appeared. Among them:

- unkempt territory, many wasp nests, even in the children's playground;

- unkempt beach;

- low-quality bedding (old, unsuitable for bed sizes);

- inhospitality and dishonesty of employees.

In 2015, part of the staff changed again, and there were fewer negative reviews, but some problems remained. Vacationers noted the following disadvantages:
