Bocharov Ruchey is a small valley in the Krasnodar Territory, in the area called New Sochi, occupied by a small river and a rapidly shrinking forest park today. The treatment-and-prophylactic sanatoriums "Salyut" and "Uzbekistan" are currently located on the right slope.

History: general information

Bocharov Ruchei was named after Ivan Vasilyevich Bocharov, one of the largest landowners who occupied about a thousand hectares of fertile land in this area of Sochi. Until the middle of the nineteenth century, the people living here called this area Midaobza, which is translated from the Ubykh language as "naughty river". According to the surviving archival documents, before the revolution it was a sparsely populated area, separated from the Sochi Posad by the Khludov side.

Dacha "Bocharov Ruchey"

Despite the large-scale construction of the "Caucasian Riviera", which began after 1921, during the construction period of the 30s of the pastFor centuries, one of the most famous resort towns has been developing mainly in the direction of the Khost microdistrict. For this reason, a valley called Bocharov Ruchey (Sochi) was chosen to build a dacha for the Soviet military leader Kliment Efremovich Voroshilov, who was then People's Commissar for Naval and Military Affairs. The administration of this city decided that the country house would be built according to the design of one of the most famous architects of that time, Miron Ivanovich Merzhanov, who in the period from 1934 to 1941 was considered Stalin's personal architect. Voroshilov's dacha was completed almost at the same time as the famous medical dispensary of the Red Army, which received the name Voroshilov in 1934.

The second stage in the history of the dacha

The work on the arrangement of the country house "Bocharov Ruchey" was led by the famous agronomist-decorator Sergey Ilyich Venchagov, who in 1951 received a diploma with honors from the Moscow Agricultural Academy. Later, by distribution, he was sent to Sochi, where over the next twenty years he ennobled state dachas intended for the recreation of families of party workers. In the period from 1971 to 1997, Sergei Ilyich took up the improvement of the government country house. The decorator at that time worked in the municipal enterprise "Zelenstroy". It was under his leadership that a garden was created in honor of Russian-Japanese friendship, as well as a truly unique corner of wildlife called "Phytofantsia". With the collapse of the Soviet Union, this picturesque place becamethe only official Russian government dacha located on the Black Sea coast.

The official residence of the President of the Russian Federation

As for the present, "Bocharov Ruchey" is primarily famous for the fact that it is here that the official residence of the President of the Russian Federation is located. Now it is a whole summer cottage complex, which occupies forty hectares of land. On its territory there are many different buildings, the main of which is the two-story presidential dacha "Bocharov Ruchey". The residence (the photo is presented in this article) is located next to the guest house, which, as a rule, accommodates high-ranking persons. In addition, the complex includes a dacha for the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. There are also two swimming pools, a heliport, a greenhouse, a garden, a kitchen garden and a modern sports complex. There is a special mooring for the presidential boat on the beach. On the site of the former tennis court, a covered press center with a large conference room was built a couple of years ago. Right at the gates of the residence is the public reception of the President.
