Egyptian Air is one of the largest carriers in North Africa. It is the national airline of Egypt and is wholly owned by the state. Egypt Air maintains regular flights between Egypt and countries in Europe, North America and Asia.
Historical background
Egyptian Airways operates in the field of cargo and passenger air transportation. The founding date of the enterprise is May 7, 1932. Then it was called MisrAirwork and was based at the Cairo airport. However, the first flight was made almost a year and a half later - in August 33rd - in the direction of Cairo-Alexandria.
Egypt Air has maintained its leadership in transportation throughout the African continent for about 10 years since its inception.
When World War II was in full swing, the airline became the property of the government. The geographical network of flights has grown significantly. The former name has changed to Misr Airlines. In 1948, 10Beechcraft aircraft, and a year later the same number of VC-1 Vikings. By 1949 the number of flights had doubled.
In 1971 the name was changed again. From that moment to this day, the company is called Egypt Air. By 1981, the company purchased wide-body long-haul Airbuses A300.
In 2008, the airline became a member of the international carrier alliance StarAlliance. In the same year, the construction of a new, third terminal complex was completed at the airline's base airport. In this regard, all flights of the airline and other members of the alliance were transferred there.
Egyptian Airlines' subsidiaries are Egypt Air Express, Egypt air Cargo and Air Sinai.
Today it is the second largest passenger carrier in Africa after South African Airways.
The company logo depicts Horus, the heavenly god from the legends and myths of Ancient Egypt.

- "Boeing 737-500 CL" - 3 aircraft with a carrying capacity of 104 air passengers.
- "Boeing 737-800 NG" - 20 aircraft with a maximum load of 144 people.

- "Boeing 777-300" - 6 units with a cabin for 346 passengers.
The average life of aircraft is 10 years.
Among the A320-200 type aircraft, there is one that is designed to carry only economy class passengers with a carrying capacity of 174 people, but it is used only on domestic flights.
Passenger air transportation is carried out on these 60 aircraft. However, during peak periods, the company leases aircraft from other companies in the wet type.
Directions
The only Russian city where Egyptian Airlines fly is Moscow (Domodedovo).

Check-in for flights
The check-in start and end times are determined depending on the chosen destination and airport of departure.
You can check in for international flights at the airport three hours before the scheduled departure time. Check-in closes exactly one hour before departure.
For domestic flights, check-in starts two hours and ends half an hour before the departure of the aircraft, respectively.
In order to save time, you can use the electronic check-in service, which is available on the airline's website. This can be done up to two days before departure. Web check-in closes 1.5 hours before departure.
For passengers with children under 2 years of age and with animals, online check-in is not available.
Onboard Service
Egyptian Airlines offers passengers three in-flight service classes:
- First.
- Business.
- Economic.
First class is available on only three aircraft from the entire fleet - an Airbus A340 and two Boeing 777-200s. The remaining two classes of service are available on all aircraft of the company.
Luggage
Baggage allowances for passengers differ depending on the travel class. First class air passengers can carry up to 40kg of luggage, business - up to 30 kg, and economic - up to 20 kg. First and business class passengers are en titled to take on board up to two bags weighing up to 7 kg each. In economy class, it is permissible to carry one bag up to 7 kg. For a child under 2 years old who travels without a separate seat in the cabin, the baggage allowance is 10 kg.
For flights across the Atlantic Ocean, baggage allowances have been increased. In first and business class, a maximum of 2 pieces of baggage with a maximum weight of up to 32 kg is allowed, in economy - up to 23 kg. For children under 2 years old, one piece of baggage up to 23 kg can be issued.
Payment for overweight or extra baggage is carried out at the airport of departure.
