History of Creation
The complex was demolished in 1961 and given the name Park of the XXII Congress of the CPSU. Later it was renamed Troparevo Park in honor of the district of the same name, along which the recreation area is spread. The park complex was created in a forest stretching from the ring highway deep into the Moscow region.
Initially, it formed a central square with six alleys diverging from it. Picturesque compositions of 40 thousand various trees were added to the main forest stand. In 1975, it was ennobled by creating a well-maintained recreation area. A dam was erected on the Ochakovka River and a rather large pond with a beach was built. The pond is fished all year round. The local catch consists of carp, bream, roach and perch.
Flocks of wild ducks come here in spring. These water birds live on the pond until autumn, when it's time to fly south. They feed on fish, algae, crustaceans and nurture offspring. Numerous duck families with tiny ducklings glide along the water surface at the beginning of summer.
In 2002, the park zone was taken under protection and given the status of the Troparevsky reserve. The territory and trees are constantly monitored. Heremaintain cleanliness, remove old and diseased stands, periodically plant new plants. In the mixed forest area of the reserve, two groves have been formed - birch and pine.
Park infrastructure
All park paths are paved. The reserve abounds with benches and gazebos. Bridges span the waterways. Moscow Tropareva Park is equipped with sports and playgrounds, food tents, a cafe, a first-aid post and a chapel.
It has a shooting range and a paintball club "Vityaz". A large territory of the club (1.3 hectares) is surrounded by a fence. An obelisk and a pillbox remind of the 5th Moscow Rifle Division. There are police officers patrolling the park.
Pond
A large pond with a beach is the heart of the park and a favorite recreational area for Muscovites from neighboring areas. The water in it meets sanitary standards, in summer there are many who like to sunbathe and swim. For children, there is a special bathing area in shallow water.
The beach is equipped with two dressing rooms equipped with entry into the water. In winter, two decent polynyas are cut down in the pond, in which "walruses" bathe. However, swimming is not so easy. Leaving reviews about the park, visitors indicate that the purity of the water in the pond is in doubt. Not everyone dares to swim in this reservoir.
There is a boat station in the park. Visitors, having rented a boat or a water bike, go for a walk along the artificial lake. Trees reflected in the water mirror, swimming ducks create an unusually beautifulpicture.
There is an area for beach volleyball nearby. The public not only plays volleyball here for fun, sometimes part of it takes part in competitions. Rescuers are watching the people on the water from the tower. There is a cafe-tent on the coast.

The chapel of St. Sergius of Radonezh was erected and consecrated over the Kholodny spring, located in the upper reaches of the Kukrinsky stream. Residents from neighboring neighborhoods collect water here, believing that it is healing. There is another spring in the reserve called "Troparevsky". True, the water spouting in it is undrinkable.
